As usual, Meggie disapproved of having her photo taken - and it shows in her expression. Laurie is more co-operative - as long as it doesn't interfere with whatever he happens to be doing at the time. A very faint reflection of the garden can be seen in his eye.

Meggie says it's been too cold this week for her to get up & strike a pose for the camera, but Laurie doesn't seem to mind the cold as much (although he's made sure that he's been coming in regularly to warm up on his heated pad).

Catnapping in the Catnip.

Laurie had been nibbling on 'his' catnip plant when the need for a little nap came upon him. He doesn't fit in the flowerpot with the plant, so he just rested his head on the plant & pot while he dozed a little.

This catnip plant is Nepeta Cats Pajamas. Laurie loves it. I hope he doesn't totally demolish it. Meggie is (so far) less impressed. She likes her catnip dried and in toys for her to play with.

Decorator at work.
No 2 nest box/nursery is definitely being decorated, hopefully in readiness for raising a family. It's not quite such a luxury apartment as Box 1, being on a slightly busier route through the garden, but Mrs Tiggy seems to approve.

Look who was a naughty stop-out last night /this morning.
We spotted him/her leaving the food box & on the way home to bed. He/she tried to be unobtrusive in the corner behind the garden bench, but decided that wasn't working...
He/she headed off to bed & made it into the undergrowth with no mishaps. Sweet dreams little hog.

This is getting to be a regular sight in the mornings. This little hedgehog is spending her days in a 'hedgehog box' nearby, hidden under low-hanging shrubs . The food & water are only a few feet away from her front door, so she has all the 'mod cons'. She has been busy decorating her box with leaves all night - it's thirsty work!

Meggie & Laurie send luv & purrs to everyone on this sunny springlike #Caturday, & they wish you the 'Cat's Pajamas'. They both keep passing by and sniffing the flowers. Laurie tasted them, too - but in general they are happy to just enjoy the scent.
They seem to prefer their catnip dried & in their toys.

I just went out in the garden to persuade Laurie that he wanted to come in for the night (he agreed that cheese would be a very acceptable bribe) & realised that my 2 favourite roses have burst into full flower recently, while I haven’t been paying attention. They are positively ‘dripping’ with blooms. They always catch me by surprise with a sudden display of flowers.
Both are strongly scented. One has a very sweet scent, & the other smells more of summer fruits. The combination is amazing. I love scented roses.

What this person did was totally disgusting. Any sane and sensible person understands putting down a suffering animal. We know some are incapable of even doing it. But to put down a young, untrained, and spirited animal for convenience and not cause is demented. I don't believe that Karma is a thing. That being said, this monster has earned a brush with whatever suffering may befall her!
