There was a great panel talk by @poconnor about living with PKU and sapropterin.
One of the questions was "are you doing well with phe levels", and one of the points was that how life changes do have a severe impact on phe levels.
As someone who moved house quite recently AND had a job change, I am proof that big life changes as well as changes to routine absolutely do mess up phe levels.
Just discovered on my new Android phone (OnePlus Nord 3 5G Lite) that there is a little button that appears in the nav drawer that, if you rotate your phone and you don't have auto rotate on, it will allow you to rotate the screen to that dimension and effectively stick to it until you rotate and press the same button to rotate back.
I sometimes need to rotate the phone to see content, but it's only appropriate at certain times. Not only that, but we've all had landscape photos which you try and turn the phone, only for the phone to rotate the landscape photo as well, thus making it impossible to see the photo.
I can't believe it's taken so long for such a simple piece of functionality to exist. Is it all Android phones, or just my OnePlus phone? 🤔
@snazzyq I've completely missed this. Does anyone know what this does that's better than the basic apple pencil (the one that looks very dodgy when you charge it out of the lightning port)?
@sdjmchattie@snazzyq amazing! 😂 I saw the usb c version lacked pressure sensitivity and it just struck me as odd. If I had to guess, apple were feeling mighty petty for having lightning taken from them...
I saw this article on Hacker News, and I've never felt more seen in my entire life. I gave away my iPad this year and I forgot until I saw this article - I always end up using my MacBook or my Thinkpad to get stuff done as the iPad is just utterly restricted at the software layer.
New GPT-4o AI model is faster and free for all users, OpenAI announces.
Among the updates that OpenAI revealed on Monday were improved quality and speed of ChatGPT’s international language capabilities, as well as an ability to upload images, audio and text documents for the model to analyze.
This little guy has been at the peanuts supply for some time. He’s been trying his best to try and get it; but the dispenser doesn’t allow for all the peanuts to come out at once, so he’s struggling
If you are wondering what I’m on about, new bathing sites have opened up today despite the fact the water rating is “poor” (means it has a ton of 💩 in the bathing site)
Hearing rumors of the first #ComicConFinland. Didn’t visit myself personally, but my wife and daughter were there yesterday. It was a brief visit because they couldn’t breathe. Top highlights:
Way too many people packed in one space and only one exit (they opened another later). People got stuck inside and got panic attacks, because were not able to leave. My wife and daugher waited 15 minutes to get out.
Barely any security around
Understaffed in each aspect, no medical around
No organized lines, people made up the lines themselves and it was a mess, lines didn’t have any progress, some lined up for 8 hours without getting to meet their heroes that they paid for. Those who did get to meet, stayed babbling there for 30 minutes. Nobody controlled the meets.
They sold extra tickets even though everything ran out already
From 10000+ visitors only 800 were able to fit in to the public Q&A, no screens were provided for the rest of them
Everything sold out really quickly and the rest of the stuff were cheap fake crap
No comicbooks found, well why bother in Comiccon right?
No organized hall, everything thrown to the same space
No water points
These from the top of my head, serious issues, what a shitshow… social media representatives boost only the positive sides. Visitors’ comments paint a different picture.
@Tattooed_Mummy I'm just imagining the poor sod who saw that poster and was like "yes!! today's my day!! at last!" only to be arrested by the police 15 mins later 🤣🤣
