I just went out in the garden to persuade Laurie that he wanted to come in for the night (he agreed that cheese would be a very acceptable bribe) & realised that my 2 favourite roses have burst into full flower recently, while I haven’t been paying attention. They are positively ‘dripping’ with blooms. They always catch me by surprise with a sudden display of flowers.
Both are strongly scented. One has a very sweet scent, & the other smells more of summer fruits. The combination is amazing. I love scented roses.

Big sigh. I went & collected my iPad this morning. Got home & found the screen is badly cracked. It wasn't like that when it went in for the charging port repair. I thought the screen was just dirty until I cleaned it up.
So - it will have to go back in again so they can repair the screen.
I'm surprised they didn't notice when it happened.
On top of that our sunroom window has just shattered. Nobody was near it at the time, but we heard it go! (Possibly a bird strike, but we can't see a stunned bird on the ground.)
What a start to the week!

RIP Mars, 2010 - 2024
This morning I found Mars run over by a car. I miss him very much. We got him from the shelter and he showed his gratitude every day. He was cuddly, playful, a rascal and very curious. Wherever I was, Mars wasn't far away and he spent many cuddly hours on my lap. I am stunned and incredibly sad. My heart is broken and I am crushed 🖤

They never replace the previous one. They make a new place. There is always room in our hearts to love another one…

(Meggie’s companion was a good example of why we change names - I may be an ‘online huggy’, but there’s no way I would have stood out in the garden every night shouting “Snuggles”. 🤣🤣🤣 She became “Snugs”. I still miss her every day, but I love young Laurie just as much)

Diary of an ASD Squirrel. Day 198 , Monday 13/05/2024

Up early for some reason beyond this simple squirrels reasoning.
Tidied up after herself, did my chores & went for a walk in the warm early summer sunshine !

I cannot seem to find the impetus to get stuff done, I work best to a deadline & the only person pushing me at the moment is me, which would be fine but I have minimal motivation levels at the moment.

I’m wondering from day to day like a leaf blowing in the breeze, no direction, no purpose.
At least the days are warm now & a lot sunnier, saving energy is easier , my lone mission to drag our energy bills down is less onerous in the summer.

Final Thoughts.

I suspect that I am going through a depressive episode, I hope I come through to the other side soon.

Thank you to all those who are helping me on this journey, in a myriad different ways. I am thankful to each & every one of you! 🫂 🫶🐿️🖖

I made a lovely roast dinner and Tom and I are just relaxing listening to music together in the living room. When we’ve had a break I will finally get my rhubarb and custard! Looking forward to bedtime with clean sheets and hoping for a better sleep tonight

I had to take my dogs out when I was selling my house, too.
The day it sold, my dogs saw the gate into the field & pulled me flat on my face into a HUGE patch of mud.

It's a day I will never forget - walkiing back down the road to my house with my dogs, absolutely plastered in mud & seeing passing drivers laughing as I went. 🤣
Thankfully it was worth it.

    Decorator at work.
    No 2 nest box/nursery is definitely being decorated, hopefully in readiness for raising a family. It's not quite such a luxury apartment as Box 1, being on a slightly busier route through the garden, but Mrs Tiggy seems to approve.

    Videoclip of a hedgehog taking leaves into the nesting box. She's very busy 'decorating' - hopefully that means she will be raising a family soon.

    The sun is shining here again this morning, so they will be out playing, & 'helping' us to dig holes for plants.

    Okay, its a terrible picture and its not ironed cause its way too hot to iron. The pattern is straight, fabric is just bundled up under it.

    by . Stitched on white 16ct aida fabric, using approx 370 metres of black DMC thread, 6 needles used. Final stitched area is - 55cm wide and 69cm high.

    This was a labour of love, a challenge, a reward to myself, part of my journey.

    Its done now.
