@Hey_Beth We're independents who live in southern NH, and we voted for her in the Republican primary. (I was wearing one of my "abortion" T-shirts, the one that says basically, "not your uterus, not your business", so everyone knew what I was doing.)

And yeah, after we all drove her numbers up, she doubled down. She's not really running a smart campaign.

@jeffjarvis According to John Hopkins School of Public Health, there are about 10 million immunocompromised or immunosuppressed people in the US. In 2022, there were almost 43,000 transplants.

All of us on anti-rejection drugs are more susceptible to everything, and if we get COVID, the treatments are expensive. (With insurance, my infusion cost almost $2K.)

And all of us have known since the beginning that the CDC doesn't really care about us.

@jeffjarvis PS I don't know about those with transplants other than kidneys, but Paxlovid is typically contra-indicated for those of us with kidney transplants because our kidney function (even after transplant) isn't good enough.

So infusions it is, although now that they've discovered that the medicine doesn't cover new variants, they're prescribing something else. (I don't know what and I'm not going to get COVID to find out LOL)

@BLTpizza Yeah, it was a surprise when I paid for a virtual visit, thinking I could get a Paxlovid prescription, only to find out that nope, I'm not eligible.

I didn't think to search the FDA for contra-indicated drugs. <sigh> (I could have saved $30!)

Lately, it's "people can only be pro-life or pro-choice, not both" (specifically, #Chrishayes & @JoyceVance ).

Lots of folks, including me and @POTUS (think back to his CP debate with Paul Ryan), believe in "both".

Also missing (always has been) is that pro-lifers are actually pro-choice who chose "life" (for the unborn...it's a different story after they're born).

People might choose to personally be pro-life and let others make their own choices.

RvW never said "you must get an abortion".

@StillIRise1963 They haven't quite figured how much we might get. Kid is taking hubby's truck (he has a 40-minute commute). Hubby is taking my car (he has a five-minute commute)...and coming back to take me to the clinic for labs. (I work from home.)

No one drives the kid's Camaro in the snow 🤣 (It's currently in the garage so that they can more easily clear the driveway.)

@StillIRise1963 Yeah, even without snow, there wasn't any...ANY...traffic on the way to the clinic. It was weird.

On our way home, the school buses were on the road and we saw some kids walking. And even that wasn't as much traffic as I usually see on that route.

@aardrian No, it was Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce (who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs).

They've been dating since last July (or thereabouts) and she started attending games in September.

And yes, the right wing is having all sorts of fits and conniptions, partly because Swift endorsed Biden and Harris in 2020. This has turned into a conspiracy that their relationship was a setup by the White House or Pentagon or some group to promote Biden.

I was just thinking about learning how to drive. I learned how in cars with manual transmissions. Now days we are hard pressed to find new cars with manual transmissions. I'll bet most people born in this century don't know how to operate a manual transmission, probably most towards the end of the 20th century as well. Here's another thought, try to find a new car with windows that you crank up by hand. Hmmm ... I remember the first car that I bought where the dimmer switch was on the column instead of the floorboard, it took me a while to figure that one out.

@Swede1952 @lizstl13 When I got old LOL, I had to stop driving my Toyota MR2 (last in a line of manual shifts), but I made sure I taught my son how to drive a stick.

He's had two MINIs and now drives a Camaro. I haven't driven it yet, but I got my left hip replaced right after he bought it and just had my right hip replaced. Maybe this summer 🙂

@Swede1952 My husband really wants to buy a Harley trike.

I keep saying "no" because I can think of so many other things to spend that money on. Especially when we're both trying to figure out when to retire.

(And pain is pain. Doesn't matter when it started.)

@Swede1952 He had his back in his 20s and 30s. He had to stop riding after an accident just about destroyed his knees. Thus, the trike...he seems to think it would be easier.

Given that we live in New England (NH), he would have maybe 6 months to ride. And it would sit in our garage otherwise.

Anyway, it's not in my budget, so it's not in his budget 😂

Interesting chyron while watching the results of the NH primary.

Dixville Notch always votes first in every election, at 12:01 a.m. All six of them.

This year, they all voted for Nikki Haley.

So the chyron shows 0% in. Haley's six votes give her 100% to TFG's 0%.

It won't last long but it's funny right now.
