I don't know if this is a thing here on Mastodon for non-dev-jobs, but I'm looking for remote #VFX work. I have a bajillion years of compositing experience in film and TV.
Most recent experience includes compositing supervision for HBO's “Julia” season 2 (check out episode 5), Broken Lizard's "Quasi" for Spotlight/Hulu, and compositing artist for “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F" #getFediHired
“In-house Visual Effects (VFX) workers at Walt Disney Pictures unanimously voted in favor of unionizing with the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) in an election...”
Just a friendly reminder that the studios and producers, represented by their union busting cabal the #AMPTP, wants to bust the #WritersGuild. In essence, they want the writers to have the same relationship as their deal with #VFX workers. And I can tell you, not having a trade union when dealing with billionaires is a losing and constantly diminishing proposition. #WritersStrike
Mograph.social is a space for the Motion Design community. VFX artists, 3D artists, animators, designers and coders with an interest in moving images are all welcome:
I am working on scanners, because I need way to highlight loot. When I was dealing with scanner (thin 3d trapezoid) vs dense smoke (follow up post) I've noticed one bug in fake light scattering, so here is fixed version:
This is also a stepping stone for tree destruction. Ignore that leaf density is connected to the amount of snow, I will decouple that next, as it has to be per instance data.
If you do publicity for a movie, please don't downplay the contributions of your #VFX team.
It may not feel as glamorous or feel like you "cheated" to make the movie. But what we do is as integral to the filmmaking process these days as cinematography, make up, music, editing, and writing. Without us, many films cannot be made, or would be too expensive or unsafe to make well.
BREAKING: Marvel Studios’ Visual Effects (VFX) Workers UNANIMOUSLY voted in favor of unionizing with IATSE in a labor board election. This marks the first time a unit of solely VFX Workers has unionized with IATSE since VFX was pioneered nearly a half-century ago.
