This is a bit of my accordion #inktober2023 book opened on the coffee bar at the cafe. The front side where the technique was easier to control. Just like any project, I was able to finish it by lowering my standards. #urbansketching
"Cleaning the Pond". Another cottagecore themed watercolor painting, painted with handmade paints. I avoided using cool colors in it, to give it a vintage vibe.
As I mentioned at the beginning of the month, instead of doing 31 separate illustrations for Inktober this year, I opted to theme it and create small drawings as part of a larger whole.
A walrus painted on watercolor. BTW, I've noticed that engagement on the fediverse is way down than it was 2-3 months ago. I do hope people return. Personally, I use almost nothing but the fediverse services now: PixelFed, Mastodon, Lemmy. The chronological feed, and finding new users to follow via hashtags, is the only thing that makes sense to me. These recommendation engines on the big social media is a total #enshittification of usability. You can never be found there, if the algorithm doesn't like you for any reason.
I began as I have for all my drawings with the intent of light ink on black background. Near the end of the timelapse, you can see where I realized it just wasn’t working for this drawing, so I simply inverted everything.
This art was based on a drawing I found online, but this time I did NOT trace it. I freehanded it all just while looking at the original art adjacent.

One thing that I find ironic is that most people put all the blame for climate change to big corporations. They're guilty alright, but somehow, people forget their own eco-footprint. It's our nearly constant purchases that drive these big corporations to do evil. So, let's not put all the blame to professor Moriarty.
