A rant about leaf blowers. Just stop with them. Gas ones spew CO2 and particulates at an alarming rate, they’re the definition of noise pollution, and they disturb insect habitat under your hedges. But they’re also just not that good at getting leaves together. Here’s the thing that no blower guy will tell you, but every SE Asian grandma knows: the best way to get leaves off your hard surfaces is this tool right here. 1/3 #gardening#GardeningMastodon#insects#biodiversity#Autumn#FallColors
#FallColors Some of you saw these photos on my old instance. I snapped these at Peachtree City Lake, and at Sweetwater Creek State Park. #photography#FallFoliage
Happy Fall, Y'all!
It was pouring rain when I left the house to drive to Mabry Mill on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia. But when I arrived at the Mill, it was only slightly misty. The autumn colors and the light was phenomenal and well worth the trip in the rain!
"Autumn on Abbott Lake" is like a fall day you can hang on your wall. It's cozy, crisp, and full of those awesome autumn colors that make you want to grab a hot drink and just soak it all in. This isn't just a snapshot; it's your own personal piece of the season's best, ready to make any room feel just right.
In keeping with my fall theme, here is a gouache painting of birch trees at sunset. The leaves are changing into yellows and oranges which is a stark contrast to the white birch trunks.
Maples showing their fall colors are one of my favorite things about fall. This watercolor was inspired by the many colors that maple leaves can turn in fall.
