#Designers of Mastodon: what's your stance on device mock-ups when showing UI work? 🤔
I know that they're supposed to provide context, but to me they always felt superfluous and distracting. 🤔 I prefer showing just the UI itself, but obviously that also makes it harder to present it in a flashy way (which may be a good thing actually).
A quick tip for beginner UI #designers is not to jump into drawing a dropdown when a back-end dev says “a dropdown”. That just means there’s an array of data, how it makes sense for a user to access it is your call.
*sometimes a dropdown IS the right answer. Just not always.
Question of the day: Agencies, do client-facing push-button products like Tyler (AI + templates = semi-instant website) frighten you, excite you, or what?
