Glad to report that the hashtag #loongyear does not return anything on Mastodon. This means that the #CCP's brainrot has not taken hold of this platform yet. Good, let's keep it that way.
Unsurprisingly #MadElon's platform of trolls and hatred delivers a shitload of posts with the hashtag #loongyear. So much #CCP#propganda on a platform that is blocked in #China, makes you think about a thing or two, right?!
By the way: the connotation of dragons as mean and evil is rooted in Western #mythology and has zero connection to anti-Asian or anti-Chinese hatred. That is utter brainrot.
So feel free to call it the #YearoftheDragon. #fucktheCCP
Happy Lunar New Year! To welcome in the Year of the Dragon, here is a Japanese ukiyo-e print by Ogata Gekko from 1897, depicting a dragon rising in the sky before Mount Fuji. 🐉 #LunarNewYear#YearOfTheDragon#JapaneseArt#ukiyoe#dragons

Spacious mind, inclusive heart: contemplations for the new year 🐲
I wish this kindness for all of us, welcoming our diversity & learning from each other. Thank you all for being here, esp my #ActuallyAutistic & #neurodivergent friends & those who care for us. We’re learning together.
Anyone going to buy the Colorverse Blue Dragon inks? I’m interested in all of them, but the dang bottles are so huge I need to choose just one. The versions with blue and gold shimmer are at the top of the list. I’m not sure if the inks will be around long enough for retailers to offer samples. 🤔
All through my first few lunar new years in SF, I realized that the Malaysian / Chinese way of celebrating with a ‘prosperity salad’ was relatively unknown here among the Cantonese, Toishanese and Taiwanese folks. So I made it myself.
A dragon may seem a strange choice for a holiday card but, I had the design in my head and, it really wanted out. Oh, and January 28th begins the Year of the Wood Dragon in the Lunar calendar. The wood underwent some processing, first to become paper, then to become a dragon.
