Eine Kollegin möchte in #Word Karos und Linien z.B. für Prüfungen erstellen. Bisher macht sie es über Tabellen und Linien zeichnen.
Mein Vorschlag war, ein Rechteck einzufügen mit Hintergrund Schraffur mit dem gewünschten Linien-Abstand (Karos oder Linien). Damit kann sie je nach Platzbedarf das Rechteck mit den Linien vergrößern/verkleinern. Das geht mit #libreoffice .In Word finde ich diese Anpassungs-Möglichkeit leider nicht.
Oder gibt es einen anderen sinnvollen Weg in Word? #fediLZ

Can someone at #Microsoft be kind enough to remind us again of the reason why, in #macOS, when you quit and relaunch #Word, it refuses to remember which documents were opened and to reopen them automatically, even though the “Close windows when quitting an application” option is NOT enabled in System Settings?
I've written a guide for people who want to draft papers in #Obsidian and then export to Microsoft #Word with "live" #Zotero citations. That is, the final document will look like a document that was written in Word with Zotero from the beginning, allowing you to edit the citations and generate a bibliography before submitting to a journal.
Does #Microsoft#Word no longer allows people to open .ODT files? Have, a few times, had to safe .ODT files as .DOCX via LibreOffice so that Word users could open it.
.ODT is an open source file format, so its a deliberate choice for Word to not be compatible.
Why do people pay for a shitty product that lacks such basic functionality?
Quick story about a #PDX neighbor. Was walking my dog this morning and passed by a man slumped on top of a bicycle on the ground sleeping. Checked to make sure he was alive; he looked dehydrated. Went back to give him food and water, check on him again. Then PPB rolled up us cuz some other neighbor called the cops on him. He was getting up, said he was ok, didn’t need medical. Cop took off thankfully, seeing he had food and water from me and was alert and able to carry on.

Das tolle ist, man sieht es auf den ersten Blick, dass Anschreiben und CV mit #texlatex gesetzt sind.

I've tried MS alternatives repeatedly, but neither Linux (2 business SW apps explicitly do not support Linux) and #LibreOffice is either too unstable with my many old #Word docxs I use as templates , not really compatible with my HP printer (keeps losing the settings every time) or no alternative for...
...advanced high-performing Excel applications.--So, no go on the PC 4 me.
Re/ the smartphone, I have been looking for a very stable(!) replacement OS for 2 older Samsung smartphones, which will not update anymore (OS + many apps).
Dead end so far, too.

Can also be used to detect leaks. For example, each developer can have a fake, unique AWS credentials on their machine. If someone attempts to use said credentials through API, you know whose computer was compromised
