I just took delivery of a laptop that came with #Windows 11.
After going through setup I felt abused and violated.
Then, doing anything on this top of the range machine was slow, and despite my answering 'privacy' to every option, it appears that every click in Edge is being sent back to Microsoft, slowing the fastest machine I've ever used.
Having installed Ubuntu 24 side by side makes this even more apparent. (I still want #Windows11 for testing).
Step by step Midori 11.3.3 is being distributed and as we are getting closer to Midori 12 we start the design and integration of MidoriVPN with Midori Browser.
Un gran numero de años usando la #basura#windows y hasta ahora veo que se pueden desactivar sus innecesarios, inutiles y vacios efectos visuales. Eso mejora el rendimiento...
Found my first issue with using a Dev Drive, and wanting to have access to it from WSL: apparently the way Dev Drives mount in Windows is not compatible with the WSL auto-mounting.
Why does this matter? Docker Desktop (in WSL 2 mode) can't mount a Dev Drive folder.
Do I dump WSL 2 mode for Docker? Or do I dump Dev Drive? Tough choice, but I suspect I dump the Dev Drive.
On #Windows, the link speed of my onboard #Realtek network adapter is stuck on 100 Mbps. Tried updating/reinstalling the driver, checked the switch and cabeling, no luck. (Switch/cable produce 1Gbps as expected when connected to a different computer.)
Couldn't find a proper solution on Google. Any ideas?

Linux desktop is sorely missing good ad integration. Try to search “how to view ads on linux” and I bet you can't find anything at all. There isn't even a stand-alone app. Not everyone is able/willing to run a Windows VM just for basic ad viewing at the OS level.
OFGB is a utility that lets you easily disable the ads (or "recommendations" that Microsoft has been inserting into the Window Start Menu, Lock Screen, File Explorer, and other locations, by adjusting the relevant registry keys. https://buff.ly/4ag0nxD#Windows#Microsoft#OFGB
This was tried a couple of years ago, but there some issues with mingw - so kudos to the folks that investigated and fixed those (sorry that I don't have links)!
Next step, the MSVC builders, which will require bumping the version of Clang that's used to build LLVM first...
