Palestinian digital rights group Sada Social accused Meta, which owns WhatsApp, of fueling "Lavender" artificial intelligence system used by the Israeli military to kill Palestinian individuals within the Gaza enclave
“I’m a professor who got fired and arrested for protesting Israel’s Gaza war”
For nearly 20 years, Danny Shaw served as a professor of Latin American and Caribbean studies at the City College of New York. But, last month, he was accused of anti-Semitism and fired for his outspoken criticism of Israel’s actions in Gaza as well as the use of US weapons and money in the enclave’s destruction.
“They try to label us as terrorists, but what are our crimes? Student encampments, books, the truth?” says Shaw.
Comme Ghassan Abu Sitta que les nazis allemend ont menacer de poursuite s'il assistai à une condérence où il a été solicité pour parler non pas de politique, mais de la difficulté de soigner à #Gaza

“The soldiers at several points fired bullets next to their feet in an effort to terrorize them, perhaps to make them amenable to following orders.
“Every time they shot at us, I instantly poked my back to check if I was still alive,” said Ahmad, recalling the soldiers’ giggles at how scared he and his family were.”
“At other times, a tank would rapidly move towards them, then drift back, less than a meter away from them. Ahmad realized the soldiers were toying with them.
At one point, soldiers picked Ahmad’s brother, Saeed, and tortured him, breaking his jaw. They kicked him in his genitals like they were ‘hitting a football,’ according to Saeed. They beat him so severely that he blacked out at one point.’”
Israeli forces are besieging al-Awda hospital in Jabalia, north of the #Gaza Strip, and treatment services cannot be provided to the injured and sick, medical sources told Wafa, the Palestinian news agency. https://english.wafa.ps/Pages/Details/144203#israelpalestine
#NYC's corrupt mayor (redundant phrase) had the #NYPD attack/assault Columbia students protesting #Gaza genocide after a private call with several pro-#Israel billionaires who promised political donations for his reelection campaign. Such a succinct example of how the sequestration of capital, political power, and violence within a tiny elite is the norm in this country.

Israeli soldiers rounded up Ahmad Safi and his male family members in Khan Younis and made them stand atop a sand dune for 12 hours as the soldiers took cover behind them during a firefight with Palestinian resistance fighters. This is their story.
Robbie Sebel, academic in International Law at the Israeli Hebrew University, based in West Jerusalem is on 'Inside Story' (Al Jazeera).
Absolutely mind boggling wilful denial of the overwhelming evidence of Israeli war crimes and genocide in #Gaza. He'd better hope the programme isn't being viewed in The Hague.
@DrALJONES According to UNRWA, April averaged 183 trucks a day via land. May has averaged just 70 and almost all of that was before Israel seized the borders and halted almost all truck passage. Only 70 total trucks have been allowed through since then.
Basically, unless the pier averages 183 trucks a day, then it isn't even replacing what came through before. The US has also halted all airdrop efforts, which averaged less than 20 tons a day since March 02.
The significance of last one wasn’t clear to me earlier, but it is enormous. Thanks @w7voa
Basically, it’s saying “If you are rooting for more military action, be prepared to serve in military — no exception for ultra-Orthodox Jews on religious grounds.”
The protesters were demanding the release of all hostages held in #Gaza, calling for new elections and also calling for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin #Netanyahu to resign.
"A handful of powerful businessmen pushed New York City Mayor Eric Adams to use police to crack down on pro-Palestinian student protesters at #Columbia University, donating to the politician and offering to pay for private investigators to help break up the demonstrations, based on leaked WhatsApp conversations"
