99.9% of jobs do not require urgency of any kind, really they don't. We've all had a boss who acts like someone will die if we don't hit some made up deadline by people who don't even do the job. No one needs their meal 1 minute faster or the paperwork before tomorrow morning. Your time off actually doesn't need to wait. Sometimes I think about how legitimately bad most businesses are at time management and hiring, and I wonder how they manage to exist at all.

@mentallyalex @RickiTarr I find this from the customer-facing side, too. I don't know how many times you can call the same company and get "we are experiencing greater than normal call volume" before it becomes obvious that that is their normal call volume, they just failed to plan and hire adequately to handle it.

Have y'all ever had someone act like you were hurting them somehow by just liking a food?

Any time I buy or make kimchi, my Mom says it's so gross and she doesn't want any and just on and on. I never offer it to her, or make group food with it, but for some reason she seems offended by it, and I don't know why.

@RickiTarr I try to be on the "don't yuck someone else's yum" bandwagon as much as possible. If it's not for me, that's fine. I grew up with "no thanks" servings where my mom would have us try a spoonful of everything, even if we thought we wouldn't like it.

@Impossible_PhD Love it! I really really wanted to get a BEV for my last car, but they're still $10k more than an equivalent ICE vehicle, so I couldn't 😥 Really hoping we see some of those low-cost Chinese BEVs here soon!

I don't understand CWing political posts. And that doesn't mean you need to @ me explaining why. I know THEIR reasons, I just disagree with them and won't do it.

I respect CWs for other things, but not politics. Politics is news and people need to be aware of what's happening. It's not gory or violent, it's politics.

@GottaLaff There is no algorithm here. If something is in your feed you don't like, you have complete control over whether it shows up again. It's silly to expect everyone in an online space to conform to every person's idea of what might be triggering, particularly when all the control over the feed is in every reader's hands.

Surprisingly, CBC's article on the Cass Review is well-reported, talking about what "high quality" research means and why it might not be feasible in a treatment situation. Kudos to journalist Lisa Johnson on not sensationalising this fraught topic.

Most people getting EBT cards do work and they usually work at low paying jobs like Walmart or fast food places, or factory or maintenance jobs.

But even if they don’t, we should be feeding hungry kids. Republicans all over the country have been rejecting programs like this. Democratic governors create and expand them.

It will always blow my mind that Fundies use the Bible to explain why women should be submissive uneducated stay at home baby machines, while the Bible's own description of the "Perfect" woman is a Land owning female boss who is praised by her husband and her city for her contributions.

@RickiTarr As Dan McLellan points out over and over in his videos, fundamentalist Christians will absolutely ignore any part of the Bible that doesn't allow them to continue propping up patriarchal systems that give them dominance.
