So this question is part and part story -related and asks you to be very honest, but here goes:

— What do you, personally, think is/are the value(s)/benefit(s) of interacting socially with other humans?

  • Also—if you’re happy to disclose—are you neurodiverse or neurotypical?

for reach appreciated.

Wiley (the people who write textbooks) closed 19 scholarly journals after being plagued by AI paper mill problems. Short thread here since this article popped up in my reading feed today.

does anyone happen to have access to the wall street journal archives from the '70s? i'm looking for one specific article that should be pretty easy to find (and, really, just the date of that article) & would very much appreciate some #research assistance.

Using AI to oversee dynamic fusion machines is a hot area of research. It doesn't mean generative AI like ChatGPT. It's old-school AI, where you train a machine to recognize patterns in complex real-world data then let it make decisions.

Hi everyone! I am currently writing a term paper, titled Examining Filipino family heritage expression in family tree mapping. This study is a term paper to be submitted in my PS 215: Special Course on Filipino Heritage course at the Asian Center.

My paper hopes to answer the question "How is family heritage expressed in the work of Filipinos who conduct family tree mapping?"

If you are someone who's done family tree mapping or any sort of genealogical research on your ancestors, then be part of a mini FGD for my study. This will be done remotely, via Zoom. I am looking for 3-4 more participants.

If you are interested in the study and would like to participate, feel free to send me a message here, Facebook (Jericho Daniel Igdanes), or through email (jdigdanes@up.edu.ph).

Plant scientists at the University of Tennessee wanted to figure out alternatives to mechanical radiation sensors, which have a history of failing at the wrong time.

How about a potato plant that glows fluorescent green when exposed to radiation?

This “could act as a fail-safe if a disaster similar to Fukushima Daiichi were to occur.”
