Denying food to starving people in wartime, is a #warcrime:
The UN's OCHA SPX Laetke: “Food convoys that should be going particularly to the north, where 70% of people face famine conditions, are more likely, actually 3X more likely, to be denied than any other humanitarian convoy with other kinds of material."
He told journalists that aid distribution inside Gaza “is a major issue” due to security & safety reasons, and the breakdown of law & order.
There will be other Dem MOC who will be inclined to agree with Sen Bernie Sanders on declining this aid package to Israel. If the money was only for humanitarian aid & efforts toward a peaceful resolution & protection, not for lethal weapons, some aimed at civilians, then the aid would likely be justified. There must be caveats attached to the aid, or the $10M aid package to Israel may go down.
