If you are a #healthcareworker or really anyone working in a #hospital and a patient asks you to wear a mask, the correct response is to WEAR A FUCKING MASK. You wouldn’t walk into the OR without a mask. You wouldn’t walk into a bone marrow transplant kid’s room without a mask. Don’t be a dick to people who are high risk for respiratory diseases.

Months later, it cut off that care to all trans minors.

This Researcher Warned of Unnecessary, Risky Vascular Procedures. She Was Called a “Nazi” and Accused of “Fratricide.”
After Dr. Caitlin Hicks and her team revealed that some #doctors appeared to be overusing lucrative vascular procedures, performing them on patients who may not have needed them, they received hostile pushback from across the profession.
Recently paid a friend a visit. She had to be warded at the public #hospital for cancer treatments. Guess how much she had to pay for a night?
RM3. That's about 60 cents in US$. It was a very basic, shared space. But she is receiving treatment because her insurance will not cover the treatments. I am ever so grateful for universal #healthcare in #Malaysia.
A brand new Oxford University analysis has debunked #NHS privatisation.
Oxford researchers looked at studies of healthcare #privatisation and found they agreed on one thing: privatisation leads to poorer quality care for patients.

After a ProPublica investigation examined how giant #insurers and their intermediaries are imposing fees on doctors and #hospitals for electronic payment, a bipartisan group of lawmakers has introduced a bill to end the practice.

Why do people seem to be getting #sick more often now?
For yet another year we are already seeing earlier and significantly higher #hospital#admissions for #respiratory#illness than pre-pandemic levels. Are there new mysterious #pathogens starting to attack us now? 🧵 1/
Please stop defending #WarCrimes or ignoring this unfolding nightmare. A modern army surrounding a #hospital (#AlShifa), bombarding it relentlessly and shooting anyone trying to escape, should be front-page news and condemned, but crickets everywhere.
Thousands of Patients May Be Undergoing Vascular Procedures Too Soon or Unnecessarily
A new analysis of #Medicare claims by ProPublica and CareSet found that atherectomies, a procedure to treat vascular disease, were performed on about 30,000 #patients who had questionable need for them.
Just talked to my Mum. The hospital where she worked for what feels like forever and is still helping out a few days a month even though she's now retired, is bankrupt. They are going to close some of their wards and move others to other hospitals, and probably fire some of their staff. Explain to me why we are using tax money to save banks, but not hospitals...?
Poor people cant take off work. Middle and upper class have some wiggle room to go to a doctors appointment during lunch, the working class do not. We won't be scheduled to work if we ask for more than 30 minutes off. There is too much work to be gone for that long. It's barbaric. After 11 hours of working I was already scheduling patients for incorrect times. The work conditions are dangerous for everyone. #healthcare#medicine#hospital
On Israel, a media that lies to itself will lie to you too
"On Monday, the New York Times published a rare editor’s note addressing an outrageous instance of journalistic malpractice.
The note acknowledged that the paper had “relied too heavily on claims by #hamas which runs the Gaza Health Ministry, in its initial reporting on an explosion at a #Gaza#hospital"
