@renwillis missing a single word (of) doesn't really make it more concise when you switch numbers so that everyone has to check - and it doesn't make sense to go month/day/year - go up in unit size (start with day) or down (start with year) - the US believing their system is normal and everyone else is weird is very... US, is all I'm saying. The rest of the world does it differently.
I've lived in the US, it's one of the most irritating admin things tbh
@noodlemaz Honestly, it really doesn’t matter and you could argue either makes sense. You could also argue year-first makes sense due to how data & file names are organized.
Hell… One could argue our Gregorian calendar system in general is pretty silly & antiquated. Humans, eh? Weird little animal.

I don't yet have the code base to really start exploring generative midi music with variations on the above approach, but I should be able to start with playing my own arrangements into a midi file, do matrix stuff with the corpus of notes, and then use that to generate new things...I'm not sure what to expect, but whatever it is should be fun to run through my #eurorack synth
Mario Paint Data Overflow Error
There is a subtle flaw in SNES art creation tool Mario Paint. It has 32K of Save RAM, which is not technically enough to save an entire project, normal and animation canvases included. On Super Mario World’s Score Display
Awesome Mario trivia blog Supper Mario Broth noted on Mastodon that Super Mario World is extremely inefficient in displaying Mario's score.
Just finished my 💯% playthrough of #Rayman Origins on #PS3. Damn, this game is great. Artstyle, gameplay, music and humor is awesome. Would call it a hidden gem because from my perspective it competes with the #Mario#platformer games.
Give it a try, at least casual. You can also play it on #Steam, Wii, Xbox 360, PS Vita and #Nintendo 3DS .
In the video you can see the fight against the additional boss unlocked when collected all 10 skull teeth. Boss art in this game is magnificent.

Unfortunately, 18 years is a long time in game development, and fan game development is no exception. Now standards for aesthetics and game design have gotten significantly better, and this sort of game is somewhat archaic at best. It looks rough, and the level design ranges from decent to terrible, with some very janky enemies and objects to boot.
That said, it introduced a few trends that would stick, and had a few things not seen in many later games.
Like holiday mode bonuses! Yep, the true final level was only playable on Halloween and you get an entirely different story with two new levels on Christmas Day! That’s pretty cool.
It also probably kicked off the fan game trend of having crossover villains introduced at the 11th hour, with Castlevania’s Dracula as the real final boss.
