So, that was Moffat’s first episode of this series of #DoctorWho… personally I thought it was better than the last two. Could tell the twist from like 3 minutes into the story, but the way they resolved the main dilemma was neat enough.

Didn’t realise the number of references to other parts of the Whoniverse til later though. Apparently these marines are from the Kovarian branch of the church? And the Doctor destroyed that company in a comic sometime ago?

Hmm, been thinking about the latest #DoctorWho series, and so far, the best thing I can say is that I’m feeling conflicted.

On the one hand, I do like some of the ideas they’re going for, and feel like things are getting better from the Devil’s Chord onwards.

On the other… something doesn’t quite work as of now. And I think the two episodes they chose to start the new series with (Church on Ruby Road and Space Babies), were poor choices too.

@SirTapTap out of these is Gex is probably the funniest, so he’d be less annoying than the others because of it. Bubsy would be annoying as hell, but I guess at least he’s not interested in moralising. Meanwhile the others feel like they’d just go on and on about everything you’re doing wrong health wise…

What was is like growing up in the early 2000s and wanting to learn programming?

My experience.
It was opaque, the closest many of us explored was flash. Comp ed. was very basic in our school system and only by High School would you get an elective. This was dependent on the school though, some taught strictly in languages that were sunsetting or outright niche.
By the time I was in HS, they taught prog language theory. I learned Python and C# in my animation course...

@illusionofmana wait some people actually had their school teach programming back then? As someone growing up in that era in the UK, the most our schools ever taught was basic HTML

For todays #vgmwednesday, we have one of the weirdest unused content stories in history:

According to old sites and versions of the TCRF article, this was originally meant for a level in the first world of the game:

For this #ThrowbackThursday, we’ve got #WarioLand 3, which was released in Japan exactly 24 years ago.

This was a surprisingly big, complex game for Game Boy Colour. You had dozens of levels that affected each other Metroidvania style, and a design setup where Wario couldn’t actually take damage or die, meaning obstacles transformed you or knocked you back.

A great game all round, and the highlight of an underrated series too.

Google's still delisted my 100% hand wrtitten site for "pure spam".

I'm looking at my "toxic links" in SEMRUSH and I was told not to bother to disavow these (unless I actually paid for links, which I have not) but there are a lot more than there were.

Almost all of them are either scrapes of my content and/or hotlinking my images though (which cloudflare blocks?).

I hate SEO, so disavow yes/no? Shouldn't matter, but I shouldn't be marked as spam. IDK.

@SirTapTap you may as well disavow them. If Google thinks these links are being used by you for promotional reasons, that may be a ban reason.

Then again, my best advice is to try and get someone from Google involved on Twitter or Hacker News or some other service they use. Sadly, tech support now is often “find someone who can actually raise the issue internally”
