I've been saying the Chef's name has been bad for years and I am FINALLY glad more people are coming out and saying that Kansas City needs to change their team name and stop all the racist iconography, chants, etc.

As I have for years, I will continue to refer to them as the Chefs.

Good morning and happy Tuesday!

Last night I was up late playing Santa, i.e. wrapping all the presents for my kids. 4 kids for Christmas means a lot of wrapping. Me & my wife split the kids down the middle and, yea, pretty even in terms of number of gifts. So, that's good.

If you celebrate, are you all prepped for Christmas? Do you have all your gifts wrapped / bought?

I don't understand people who buy & install light coloured carpet. Do they think no one who has parties, pets, or children will ever own that house??

Are they even human or some kind of never-spilling robot?

I just can't. 😭

When my mom shopped for new flooring in her kitchen she told the store "I want a crumbs & dirt pattern." And when she bought new carpet for the stairs she asked for "sawdust & dirt" (dad is a carpenter). This is wisdom. 😆

@syntaxseed seriously, our carpet is white and the people that owned the house before us did less damage to this carpet in a year than we have in 5 months. I’m not sure they walked on it maybe the whole family just lived in the kitchen?

Wait there's an entire season of The Witcher that I haven't seen?
Time for some great fight scenes, grunting growly grumpy men, idiot bards, and pretty bad plot!
It'll be a shame to lose Cavill next season. He really pulls the whole thing together. Hemsworth is gonna have to be pretty good to keep this wreck of a plot going.

My son has mastered the fundamentals of Magic The Gathering as evidenced last night when he beat me again and also during the game he said “Did you just open a carbonated beverage next to your un-sleeved cards and then POUR it into a cup! @calvinball @lovestha this is how it felt getting into magic in the late 90s working for two weeks pay to buy my first box - Ice Age - it was complete shit and I didn’t buy another box of magic for 20 years because of it. Talk about resentful - playing against people with amazing decks and I’m sitting on a box of hot dog water ice cubes. :)

@calvinball it surely saved me oodles over time - I wasn’t tempted again successfully till the Lord of the Rings cards - the artists really did amazing jobs and I wanted to at least get this set while it’s around. :)

It’s always interesting to me to see who HASN’T been named in an indictment like the RICO case in Georgia. One of those names belongs to lawyer Lin Wood, who helped spread election fraud lies alongside his pals Sidney Powell, Rudy Giuliani, and Jenna Ellis, who were all named as defendants.

And now, look! In one of Fani Willis’s motions, Lin Wood is listed among the names of the STATE’S witnesses in Georgia. Guess we know who he has been talking to and ratting out.

Just saw someone advocating progressive movements organize on the Fediverse.

BE VERY VERY CAREFUL ABOUT SAYING STUFF LIKE THIS.

-Most fediverse tie-ins are not architected to protect you. For instance, Mastodon Direct Messages are not encrypted and admins can access them.

-Most instances are hosted by ordinary people who don't have the time, knowledge, or resources to fight subpoenas in either criminal or civil actions.

Meet here. Support each other. Cheer each other on. Show solidarity, and elevate and amplify each other.

Organize in much more restricted environments, like end-to-end encrypted messengers like Signal.
