Does anyone on here know a lot about analog telephones? I am trying to figure out how to wire this telephone up for a friend of mine and I am stumped because there are only three wires and I am used to phones having four wires.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

A hearty day to everybody within the reach of this toot. I'm going to regret this, but I am now looking towards the end of the tunnel of 3/4-in tape and umatic digitization. I just want to reach out in case somebody is sitting on a tape or a few tapes and wants them to get a digitization done. I'll be packing up the format sometime this year so this is the time to do it.

I can't seem to catch a break medically these days, so I hurt my TMJ and am on a soft-food diet.

Pat was lovely and bought me a bunch of baby food yesterday. I was skeptical and thought it looked gross, but it's actually delicious! Why didn't anyone ever tell me?

The best:

Blueberry + banana
Sweet potato

Also quite good:

Chicken and vegetable
Turkey and rice

I can imagine having these on hand for a healthy snack or quick meal when I'm busy all the time. This feels like a . 🤣

@grammargirl If by TMJ you mean temporomandibular joint disorder, I am familiar and sympathetic. I suffered from this decades ago. After looking into a number of treatments an expert suggested it was stress related and advocated meditation. I took a course in Transcendental Meditation and that worked. Since then I have come to believe that any consistent form of meditation can work. In San Francisco, for example, the Zen Center teaches meditation for free.

@grammargirl This is the mistake made by many school children. If they used ChatGPT for all their writing then teachers would think it is actually their voice. The same may be true for your listeners. (Of course, joking.)

A teenager in the window seat was almost sucked out of the plane! His phone and his shirt were ripped off of him and sucked out. He was saved by his mom holding him in.

🤔 I need to call my tiny mom and apologize for all the times she did "seatbelt arm" on giant me in the car whenever she had to slam on the brakes. I laughed at her! I didn't know the true power!

@mekkaokereke Thank you for this. Decades ago a friend had a deadly situation in a private plane which he survived by his skill and a steady ground control voice. It took months to get the ground control recordings. Glad to see this is readily available now.

@foone @mdwalters I doubt that. My recollection is that laserdisc was mostly made by Sony, Pioneer, and 3M and none would press porn. Any form of tape duplication was cheap by comparison and the machine sellers couldn’t control what was duplicated.

    @ArtPhotosDesk That’s the same kit they would have used if they were shooting with an Arri or Red. This argument misses the point that a $1500 iPhone replaced a $35,000 camera with an expensive lens and got great results. The rest of the kit is probably like what they’ve used every other time only with a high end camera.
