That image strikes me as singularly unsuited as a metaphor for that message... I mean, a wall isn't useful until it is built as high as it needs to be and adding more height after that is rarely an improvement. If it's supposed to be a house it gets even worse, because that only serves as shelter once the roof is on... Not to mention I vastly prefer a house that was properly planned through before starting construction... Not all projects benefit from iteration...
Oh je. Programmierer, die nur bestimmte Dateitypen zum Upload zulassen wollen, und das dann über die Dateiendung regeln wollen, und das dann nicht mal richtig parsen können.
Gibt es schon eine Liste mit falschen Annahmen, die man nicht über Dateien machen sollte?
@lobingera@Drops Ich hab' jetzt ein paar Minuten versucht, was witziges zu finden, was auf der libc bzw. einem syscall basiert (und damit so fundamental, dass es praktisch nicht viel Wert ist; So Marke "Ein File ist ... ein File"), aber, ehrlich gesagt, bin ich mir bei keinem davon wirklich sicher genug, das tatsaechlich nichts schiefgehen kann...

@annaecook I've been stuck between this and autistic burnout for a couple years now... I've also learned a lot about Victorian-era farming and engineering as a coping strategy... If tech/humanity ends in the dumpster fire it's heading for, I am sooooo ready ;-)
@honeybadger Ooph... 5.3 was released in 2009 and people had been using "Zend Framework"-style Namespace_Prefixes for years at that point. WTF triggers an introduction to php namespaces in 2024???

@whoisryosuke I'm usually a very stubborn open-standards-only person. The "I had an 'MP3-stick' that also supported Ogg Vorbis because I only had those" kind. The "No binary blobs in my OS and BIOS" kind. But, I admit, secretly, MiniDisc still makes me smile very fondly. So damn neat. Such a shame it arrived late to the scene and was hampered by Sony doing everything in their power to hamstring it's killer feature, perfect copies, by not making proper computer drives for it and only its craptacular NetMD software...
@daniel_meyers@lzg Seconded, it's a very explorable-on-foot city in summer, I especially loved areas like Bergmannstrasse (but there are many more; just keep in mind that going across the entire city is quite a challenge; better go to a selected Kiez by subway and then spend the day exploring it)
@fink@pasci_lei a) Ich lese bei OP einen ironischen Unterton. b) Eine Person, die genug versteht, um sich eine SearXNG-Instanz zu suchen, bzw. versteht warum man das tun koennte, die hat, vermute ich stark, auch genug Hintergrundwissen, um sich auch durch eine passende Anleitung zu arbeiten. Dass das keine Loesung fuer das Gros ist, ist, finde ich, offensichtlich.
@estherschindler I happen to be subscribed to both and from a taxonomy perspective I'm in favour of including both general and specific, as you'll reach a wider audience. That said, the more general the tag, the more "spammy" the subscription, e.g. network telescope bots, etc., so the more likely I am to unsubscribe if the deluge of those can't reasonably be contained via judicious filters and blocks. This is rare though, for me.
