Could this be Ginny Thomas? I am just asking.

acwhite,
@acwhite@mastodon.social avatar

@Karoli @murshedz I'm pretty sure it is Boris Epshteyn at this point.

acwhite,
@acwhite@mastodon.social avatar

@Karoli @murshedz Good point. But he was a political consultant to Trump not hired as an attorney (to the best of my knowledge). And he was very heavily involved in the fake elector scheme and working with Guiliani on it which is how #6 is described.

    @Teri_Kanefield Are 1-6... Giuliani, Eastman, Powell, Clark, Chesbro... and Ginni Thomas? Hard to imagine it would be but what other "political consultant" was so involved in the fake electorscheme?

    acwhite,
    @acwhite@mastodon.social avatar

    @bjornivarsson @Teri_Kanefield To the best of my knowledge Roman has flipped. I no longer think it is Thomas. Pretty sure it is Epshteyn at this point.

    @acwhite@mastodon.social avatar

    @bjornivarsson @Teri_Kanefield Generally they cooperate in order not to be charged or have a separate agreement to plead guilty to lesser charges. And yeah, Meadows is a glaring absence from this. He'd been rumored to have flipped before. My take is his absence here means it is true.

    The Problem With Calling Vermont’s Storms a “100-Year-Flood”

    Thanks to climate change, these deluges are occurring much more often.

    thanks to climate change, what was once considered a “100-year” or “1,000-year” rainfall may be wildly outdated, according to a new, peer-reviewed report from climate research nonprofit First Street Foundation.

    @GW Has it been 100 years since Irene? Cuz that's the last time Vermont flooded like that. So... maybe a 12 year flood?

    The Crimes and Dangers of Elliott Abrams

    To honor those who have died and suffered from the fires Biden nominee Elliott Abrams lit and fanned abroad, we must stop his appointment.

    Under Abrams’ watch, over the 12 years of the Reagan/Bush Sr. administrations, 75,000 Salvadorians were killed. In the village of El Mozote, the army’s Atlácatl Battalion herded women and children into a church convent and opened fire with U.S.-supplied M-16 automatic rifles

    @GW Elliott Abrams should not be allowed anywhere near a democratic administration unless it is sitting across from a DOJ lawyer prosecuting him.

    The word anti-semitism gets thrown around a lot, and many times it isn't justified, like at people who criticize Israeli government policies towards Palestinians.

    However, insinuating that Covid was bioengineered to not be nearly as impactful against Jews is objectively anti-semitic.

    So what type of colonizing did your family do?

    acwhite,
    @acwhite@mastodon.social avatar

    @BlackAzizAnansi As a white kid growing up you learn to take pride in Mayflower or other early immigrant ancestry to the Americas. As an adult researching genealogy you find some ancestor celebrated as among the first settlers in some area. Then you read a brief mention of confrontations or "indian worries" and as an aware adult realize that ancestor was colonizing and taking that land from others. Then you find the will of an ancestor where he gives a human being he "owns" to his son. 1/2

    Nothing essential should be in private hands. Infrastructure, food, medicine, clean water, public transportation.... The private sector can sell trinkets, toys, baubles, they can also have restaurants and bars. EVERYTHING ESSENTIAL should be provided to the taxpayers at the lowest possible cost.

    acwhite,
    @acwhite@mastodon.social avatar

    @SweResistance @Ulrich_the_Elder I'm an American. I have one med I take on a daily basis that costs $185 for a three month supply and that is with a company discount. Another I was initially charged $1500 for 3 months until I was told there was a promo plan where I could get it for $10. I just visited the ER this past weekend. Don't have the bill yet but I know it will have been $100 just for walking in the door. We'll see what the various tests and doctors cost on top of it.

    acwhite,
    @acwhite@mastodon.social avatar

    @SweResistance @Ulrich_the_Elder It is completely insane and reminded me of drug dealers that give away feebies to get people hooked on their drugs... probably because that is exactly what they are... drug dealers.

    acwhite,
    @acwhite@mastodon.social avatar

    @SweResistance @Ulrich_the_Elder It's also true that I only learned of the discount because I knew how to complain about the price to my doctors office and they clued me in. Many people would end up going without the medicine due its unaffordability.

    I'm still not talking about Black history. I'm still talking about white US history.

    Q: Why do Black kids not do well in school? Is it because their dads are uninvolved and uncaring parents? Bill Cosby and Herschel Walker told me that, and they are good and wise men that we should listen to! It's Black dads' fault! Boo Black men!

    A: No. Black kids only do poorly in school in extremely racist countries.

    acwhite,
    @acwhite@mastodon.social avatar

    @brbennett @peladocollado @Lironah @mekkaokereke Yeah, growing up in inner city Chicago I had a black teacher in 2nd then again in 7th grade. My high school was roughly 80% black but I think my drafting teacher/football coach was my only black teacher. There were many others in the school but he was the only one I had and the majority were overwhelmingly white.
