Haven’t really done a proper first post here so here goes: I’m Scott, mid-thirties #equestrian from #Scotland living and working in the Middle East. Fed up of Twitter and looking for a new social media home 🤗 - hence why I’m now in the fedi!
One day I'll manage to stay up until midnight (already a very late night for me), but this is nearly 11 pm in Scottish summer. You could easily see your way without streetlights. A very peaceful, bluetoned twilight.
My absolute favourite time of year. These long days will never not be magical.
Let's just forget the shit that he is spewing attempting to excuse his use of a private aircraft (which donor is paying and what are they going to want in return?). BTW ‘carbon offset’ illustrates how little the fucker knows
He finishes off with the Gruaniad highlighting the fact that he know nothin about English or Scots Law.
'Scotland's most senior law officer has been urged to heed long-standing calls to investigate the source of the funds underpinning Donald Trump’s purchase of his flagship international resort after he became the first former US president to be convicted of a criminal offence.'
The wonderfully triangular Caerlaverock Castle and its inner moat. Standing some seven miles south of Dumfries, it was built in the 1260s and 1270s to replace a slightly older castle whose traces can still be seen nearby. Drystone today in a rather lush garden. Working on a retaining wall built from Yorkshire sandstone. Building on a curve with really straight edged stone is always a challenge. As is my mosquito/midge allergy during Scottish summers.
The basic principle of a retaining wall is that the wall's depth should be roughly the same as its height. So a 1m high wall extends back 1m into whatever it is retaining.
Whether or not you support independence for Scotland, you must surely support the principle of democratic choice. In which case every person in Scotland meeting a prospective MP or their campaigners from whichever party must ask them these three simple questions.
Nature-friendly farming keeping farmers in the green
‘The Impact of Extreme Weather on Scottish Agriculture’ commissioned by WWF Scotland shows that increased prolonged periods of hot, dry weather dramatically risk the profitability of Scottish farms, but by adopting nature-friendly farming practices this can be avoided
Two MPs who represent English constituencies will go head-to-head in ITV's 'UK' GE24 debate.
No-one representing Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland is allowed to take part.
There's that 'equal union' for you. #IndependenceIsNormal#Scotland#ge2024
This is a young red squirrel that its mother has been bringing into the garden. Plenty of exploring to be done amongst the hawthorn #Aberdeenshire#Scotland#RedSquirrel
Since 2014 the UK government has overruled Scottish Parliament decisions on devolved matters more than ten times. Some partnership. Some equality. #IndependenceIsNormal#Scotland
