New instance means I copy-paste my #introduction from my previous instance lol. So here’s my #intro!
I’m Bryn, (she/her, 25) and I live in the greater Pittsburgh area! I’m a #bisexual, #polyamorous#trans girl with a passion for #electronics, #music (especially #indie), and human interaction, i.e. #communication. I’m happiest when I’m among friends, lovers, or just other people in general!
I was a team lead in customer facing tech support for a home security company, but I gave that up after facing major #burnout. Now, I’m taking a few months to recuperate while my partners keep me alive, and I’m looking to start a #freelance#branding and #WebDesign co-op with one of said partners!
This account is not professional; I post #nsfw content on occasion. I spent too much of my life without confidence to let my newfound beauty go to waste! :blobcat_coy: This content will always be hidden behind a content warning, of course!
Definitely follow me if you like cute girls, relationship anarchy, free open-source software, or any combination thereof! Boosts are also very much appreciated, but please give higher priority to mutual aid requests and the like.
The Go-Go’s release their first single, “We Got The Beat” b/w “How Much More”, on Stiff Records.
Excited to finally post this one. 😃
"How Much More" is my all time favorite Go-Go’s tune. This version, specifically. It’s so raw and energetic. You can hear the band’s early influences like The Ramones, The Ventures, Buzzcocks, etc.
Short, simple, and undeniably good fun. Most of the power is provided by that guitar riff and the huge drums, but really what makes these versions stand out is the joy you can feel the band had in making it. 🤩
🎧 Checked the #Billboard charts for top songs this week 50 years ago, May 27, 1973. I was 15, finishing my sophomore year in HS.
"Tie A Yellow Ribbon" and McCartney's "My Love" topped the chart, but further down at #15—#OhioPlayers' "Funky Worm" had been on the radio for months. It went #1 on the #Soul chart.
Happy birthday to Bruce Cockburn, born today in 1945!
In his career, he has written over 350 songs on 34 albums, 22 of which have gone gold or platinum.
He has won 13 Junos & been nominated for 33. He has sold more than seven million albums worldwide.
Loads of brill videos on Instagram of The Beaches playing at the Boston Calling festival yesterday. They are tight as fuck live. Decades playing together and lots and lots of work will do that.
Lots of posts from festival goers with taglines similar to “My new favourite band“ and “Find of the festival so far”.
I know that feeling. I can’t wait to see them live in November.
🎧 #TopPop was the Netherland's answer to UK's "Top of the Pops (1970-1988).
Some artists recorded their songs off-site, out of the Netherlands. #TheTrammps "Disco Inferno" was filmed in Philly and aired on April 4, 1976 for the show's Dutch and Flemish audience.
When the song was included in the 1977 soundtrack for "Saturday Night Fever" it was re-released as a 45. You had to be there to realize how big it hit, worldwide.
🎵 And Jason said: "LET THERE BE ROCK RADAR VOL. 2!" 🤘
Rock Radar #2 is 60 minutes of the best new (and not so new) #grunge, #emo, #indie, #rock, #hardrock, #bluerock tracks I've come across in my endless quest for "The Best Music You've Never Heard."
