Courtney Love has just launched a new eight-part series about women in music on BBC Radio 6 Music and finished her memoir, "The Girl With the Most Cake." She also recently marked the 30th anniversary of both the death of her husband Kurt Cobain and the release of Hole's seminal album, "Live Through This." The Evening Standard's Dylan Jones talked to her about Taylor Swift ("not important"), Madonna ("I don't like her and she doesn't like me") and whether she's an English lady now.

This is my Sharkey 🙃

You can call me Dane.

I started out on the fediverse arooooound...I wanna say 2017/18 mebbe? My big start in social media was MySpace. Before that, I had a LiveJournal (which I miss mightily with all my heart). My very first computer was a Gateway PC, back when they shipped them to you in those awesome cow spot pattern boxes. I am trying to de-google my life.

I'm and suffer from . I'm currently unmedicated. I can be damned moody at times, so there's your warning.

Religiously/spiritually speaking, I'm complicated. That will be a long post, when I get around to writing it. My general rule is: I have my thing. It's not everybody's thing, and that's cool. Not everybody's thing is my thing, and that's cool. Just don't be a wanker towards those whose thing ain't your thing. OM 🕉

I'm 57 years old and have come to the conclusion that we never truly appreciate the decades we grew up in until we hit middle age.

I'm single and childless, hence my user tag: TheLastOfHisName.

And now, a hefty list of hashtags....

I was listening to my own music last night, which is not unusual, I listen to my own music quite a bit. I like it. But as I listened to it last night, I began to view it for the first time as a body of work. I’m not sure what it was before that moment, but as I played through the almost-hour long collection of my original songs, I was struck with the feeling that this is… a thing, a representation of something, I’m not sure what. I’m usually good with words, but I’m finding it difficult to describe the shift I felt. I know I must continue to add to this body of work, and that the work must stay true to itself. Music for the sake of music, and tunes that I personally enjoy listening to over and over again. I’m not sure if it was because I’d just binged on Ween, or maybe had too much sugar, but it was like an epiphany, and The Dgar Project has taken a new seat in my own consciousness. I am a songwriter, and this year, I’m writing songs.

Here’s the link if you’d like to open up the #Dgar for yourself and see what’s inside.

Kurt Cobain died 30 years ago today. The Independent's Mark Beaumont looks back at Nirvana's live performances, from their first Seattle shows in 1988 to the final gig on March 1, 1994. "Many shows in Nirvana’s brief seven-year existence were true rock’n’roll riots: scenes of wild, cathartic release – not only for the punk and rock fans enthralled by Cobain’s pain-wracked strain of melodic grunge but also the band themselves, who attacked every set as if fighting their way out of a tumble dryer," he writes. Did you ever see Nirvana live? Share your memories in the comments.

Also, kommt, Freunde, lasst uns schreien:

Arbeitsvermittlungen – Was für ein Chaos

Arbeitsvermittlungen – Zu nichts zu gebrauchen

Arbeitsvermittlungen – Verpisst Euch

Arbeitsvermittlungen – Verdammte Bestien.* "

Apologies for being a bit slack this year, but fear not... THE PODCAST IS BACK! With a bit of a 90's indie-rock vibe.

I also feel the need to apologise to anyone who may have follwed me due to my tooting, because the music I play is probably a bit different...

Yesterday I relistened to the 3 studio albums Alice in Chains recorded with original lead singer Layne Staley. I've come to the conclusion that only Dirt really floats my boat.

I haven't bothered with any of the albums produced since Layne's death, for the same reason I wouldn't bother with a Soundgarden album made without Chris Cornell.

Am I missing anything? Any of them worth a listen?

Of the big 4 Seattle grunge bands, only Pearl Jam has produced more than 2 really great studio albums IMHO.

Nevermind is full of great songs and In Utero hits home too. The rest of their limited catalogue is mostly forgettable. Except Unplugged of course, but that's a live recording not a studio album.

Similarly with Soundgarden, Superunknown is a masterpiece from start to finish, and Badmotorfinger is awesome. But I could do without the rest of their records.

spent the morning writing and recording this.

So far I like the sense of space I created even if it isn't a affective pop song.

I think I will write a new solo. because I just improvised some noise till I finished the song.

all constructive criticism is welcome and appreciated.
