There's still no way to completely disable Home background activities on the iPad. It keeps draining the battery when the iPad is idle, even though the iPad is not a hub.
I'll remove "My Home" and all accessories. Perhaps this helps!
I should look into any new SwiftUI API:s in iOS/iPadOS 17 as it’s probably going to be out in a few days or weeks at most. From watching some WWDC videos I don’t remember anything interesting that I thought could be useful, but there has to be something? SwiftData is a big one, but I don’t even use CoreData so it’s irrelevant. Also never use version 1.0 of a brand new Apple framework.

I've been working through a #SwiftUI course, and, about once per week, I'll reach a state where Xcode won't allow me to quit it, the menu option is grayed out, and I have to Force Quit it from the Task Manager.

SwiftUI question: I have a NavigationSplitView that shows, depending on device and orientation, as split view or as a stack view. How can I see which mode it is in?
It is not columnVisibility as that only determines how it is displayed in split view mode, not split vs. stack.
I saw this article on Hacker News, and I've never felt more seen in my entire life. I gave away my iPad this year and I forgot until I saw this article - I always end up using my MacBook or my Thinkpad to get stuff done as the iPad is just utterly restricted at the software layer.
