Second slipper finished while on the plane for my work trip. (I’m not working today - treating today like a “vacation day” that is spent traveling so I am in the right place for work tomorrow morning.) These bulky slippers were such a fast knit. Still have to stitch the i-cord loops down, duplicate stitch to cover any weird holes, weave in the ends, and wet block into shape. #knitting#FiberArts@knitting (remove group in reply)
Two days until the robe dances to life. Hard to imagine that yarn became this, and that my own hands wove it. Check out: Yéil Koowú at lilyhope.com or KTOO for more info on the ceremony. The event will be live streamed. #fiberarts#weaving#handmade#alaskalife#MastoArt#artwork
Slipper 1 is complete. Definitely needs a wet blocking into the final shape. There is a little hole on each side of the instep where I assume I could have avoided it by (something) but I guess I’ll go back and either duplicate or just kind of patch from the inside. Other than that I really like the pattern. Let’s see how the second one goes. Knitting in bulky weight is so amazingly faster than fingering. #knitting#FiberArts@knitting (remove group to reply).
The slipper is definitely a pretty fast knit. Took a nap and got back to it. I like the construction method too. You can see where the foot goes in! It’s now ready for the front rise which is almost the end! #knitting#FiberArts@knitting (remove group to reply).
Last workday of vacation, deliberately away from where I could check work emails ;). Mushroom, egg, and cheese crepe and a latte with some sock #knitting at the local bookstore cafe. Made it to the gusset on my second Larch Ped sock so am hopeful this will be done “soon-ish”!! Vacation knitting is the best! And next week I have a work trip with hours at the airport so there will be more knitting then! #vacation#FiberArts@knitting
Reading this story about how the controversy over knitted dolls showing off their private parts has actually helped this bookstore raise more money for the local air ambulance improved my day 1000% percent (I can’t tell if they are crocheted or knitted - the headline says one, the article says the other) #knittting#crochet#FiberArts
The time has come for a de-stashing. If you are in the US/Canada, have challenges acquiring yarn, and are interested in a mystery box of yarn of varying weights, colors, and materials, please let me know. If I have multiple interested parties, I may choose 1-2 winners, or I may distribute the yarn in some way. You will receive the yarn free of charge. All I ask is that you give it a good home - either use it yourself or donate it on. #knitting#FiberArts#crochet#yarn@knitting
I think I need to watch this a few more times to really understand it, but I love it, when science and textiles crafts meet and people make a deep dive into this.

Bag is basically complete now! Still need to do the strap, but the bag functions as a bag now and that's a big milestone. Still going to work on the strap for as long as possible. #crochet#fiberart#fiberarts
I’m looking for fediverse accounts to follow for inspiration in my new leisure interest: #knitting#socks. I’ve made two pairs so far and am looking for help and style variations, as well as tips to improve my technique.
@ellane Here are a whole bunch of hashtags to check out. Not all relevant to socks but all are fiber arts related. Welcome to this wild and woolly world!

Everyone who creates forgets certain details about their creations from time 2 time. Most creators in today's time don't initial &/or date their work, etc. These cards are the size of business cards & can be filled out so precious information won't be lost.
Larch Ped Sock 1 is complete! I do really like the way the Finchley Graft looks as well, with no modifications (I always modify the end of my Kitchener stitching to get rid of a weird ear I tend to get otherwise. The sock fits really well. I guess we will see how long it takes me to do sock 2 now! #knitting#FiberArts@knitting (remove group in reply)
I have a "no buying yarn unless you have a project in mind" rule, buuuut I might have ordered 5 skeins for a yet-to-be-planned sweater project 🙈
I'm thinking something like this cabled mesh sweater? With those traditional 90s punk stripes (you know the ones). With or without the color work skull (to be decided)
Today I said "no thanks" to daily life and just knitted instead 😂
Got about half a sleeve done for the new sweater. I need to come up with a better name for this project, cuz "Cable and Mesh Sweater" doesn't capture it's ✨ aura ✨
