Let's all talk about what the day holds for each of us.
For me, it's work stuff with a meeting at 12pm EST. The wife and I will be cooking some burgers on the grill today and then of course we have the eclipse as we're in the path of 82.5% totality.
Fortnite with friends this evening as we always do on Monday's.
Getting excited about the #eclipse again, even though the forecasts still imply a high chance it'll be a cloudy nothingburger anyplace we'd be hanging out for it (namely, the Great Lakes, as opposed to say, central Mexico).
wish i could watch the annular eclipse. sounds awesome.
one of my #momGoals was to watch an #eclipse with my sons and i did a few years ago here in nyc.
my nerdlette home was in front of a playground. i loved lying on the floor at night, to count the stars with my mom or dad or brother or us all. was fun to cheer the ocassional meteor.
they're Ancestors now. i miss them terribly.
my long-gone life with them are memories i get to humbly gift to my sons & the world.
It's more than @mmasnick describes here. It's like suddenly you're on an entirely different planet. Seriously: A. Different. Planet. with a writhing black and violet (and yellow still, just not as much) sun in the sky, the air around you strange and electric, the world a changed thing, all at once.
As someone who has seen an #eclipse from totality and from 98%+, I would like you to know that 98%+ rounds down zero much more than it rounds up to totality. If you're at 98/99% you might think "eh good enough" but it really isn't. The corona effects are orders of magnitude different IMO
Interesting to think, there must be someone who is managing the energy supply in each region across N America who needs to ensure they're ready for when solar panels all along the #eclipse path lose power and the conventional grid needs to fill in for three minutes or so.
Now that Marjorie Taylor Greene has kindly informed us that her god, who's on call 24-7 for Marjorie and talks to Marjorie ALL the time, is out to hurt people (because Marjorie wants to hurt people and has made a god in her own image to justify this), I'm wondering how we're supposed to appease this angry god when the eclipse devastates us.
Yay! This cool tool from #NASA shows the percentage of eclipse and exactly when it will occur, based on zip code. Just click your location on the map. It also shows the predicted weather at the time!

Yeah, however long a shot it is... but this very faint trace coming on & off, peaking literally for SECONDS around 1936z (I know the time in this waterfall plot is 4h off xD) on 1129.991 kHz can't lie...
Also w/ timeanddate.com day/night/#eclipse map for 1936z attached, w/ locations of WBBR & mine overlaid. NY was in slightly less than 75% totality at the time but a full one was right on the radio waves' take-off 😅
