Released in 1987, "Never Can Say Goodbye" is a cover version by British synth-pop duo The Communards. Originally a Motown hit by The Jackson 5, this version topped the UK Singles Chart and became one of the best-selling singles of the year.
Copies of Worlds of IF Science Fiction Magazine #177, the relaunch issue, spotted in Paris. Front cover art by Bob Eggleton, back cover art by Andrew Stewart. Check out that table of contents.
Feels so good to read it in prints!
I found out today that Jelly Roll and T-Pain covered the Toby Keith classic "Should've Been a Cowboy" and I don't know if I'll be the same. https://music.amazon.com/albums/B0D2PFHFNW
Sadly, it's an Amazon Music exclusive, so no other options on how to stream it.
I should be promoting my new album but I got distracted recreating #synth sounds for songs I might want to cover live. I'm guessing many of you will recognize this one right off the bat. It's not perfect but I think I got pretty darned close!
I'm using a sample from a Novation Nova which is a 1999 synth so I'm assuming that patch was in turn a recreation of the original. Which I think was an OBX, but don't quote me on that.
