Currently using #Signal and #Matrix with my main focus on Matrix because of it being decentralized, but I wish Matrix would be a bit better in regards to preventing metadata leakage.
Which messenger do you use and what's your opinion about this topic?
Hmmm... did anyone ever think about making a sort of local bulletin board system with a small computer/old phone/sbc? The machine provides a wifi hot spot, but when logged on people only have access to a single local website where they can post messages to one another.
One could even have messages carried between multiple of these systems #sneakernet style. Kind of an alternet.

Si bien en 2021 salía un documento, presuntamente del FBI, poniendo a #Telegram por encima de #Signal y #Threema en cuestión de privacidad porque la compañía siempre se niega a colaborar con las autoridades y porque por mucho que se teorice sobre sus debilidades no han llegado a hackearlo, lo que sí hackearon los rusos fueron smartphones específicos, probablemente con algun malware como Pegasus (o infiltrándose en chats grupales), para acceder a conversaciones.

Auch deswegen unterstützen die ua unauffällig @simplex finanziell und auch deswegen sehe ich dies kritisch. Ich verweise auf @briar und @cwtch obwohl es bei einigen unbekannt ist.
🧵 …zugegeben im Artikel oben zum Thema @signalapp, geht es auch darum, dass die digitale Kommunikation die Anonymität staatlich wieder entfernt werden will 🤷♂️
Meine aufgelisteten Lösungen @briar und @cwtch sind (noch) nicht populär und auch deswegen (noch) nicht staatlich verfolgt und bekämpft.
