An older video from the past for entertainment and education.
This time lapse shows a flight close to the magnetic pole. Even though the airplane flies basically a straight line, the heading continuously changing. #AvGeek#aircraft#A380#airplane
I don't normally love white on an aircraft, but there something very clean about this one, and the very light gray palm tree on the tail was just "chef's kiss"!!
Apologies for the "back-lighting" - they were firing up the engines and safety says "stay where you are".
One of the things my #XPlane#flightsim never got right in my opinion was the brightness of landing lights. They have always been very dim, and at night you do not see the runway until damned near over the numbers.
Last night I finally found the settings for this and tweaked my usual #Cessna 172SP so now it has very wide and bright landing lights. Not real-world, but I can see the whole runway now.
A study for Hybrid Air Vehicles, which hopes to have its airships in operation by 2027, found that they could serve the islands with an infrastructure investment of roughly $2.5 million. Weather would allow regular flights about 96% of the time, except for trips to Jura (79%) and Papa (85%). The report concluded that an optimum configuration for the service might be 30 to 40 seats and 6,000 kg of freight.
(To make, just add a #Horse's severed head, a pole and some #Runes. Not to be confused with the #Vindgapi, which uses a #Ling#Fish head instead, and which is used to summon storms.)
Next, the #BBC also has three cool #Halloween tie-in vids care of its archive YouTube channel.
The first of these covers a 1973 report on the blasted wastes of #LlynDulyn ("Black Lake") in Snowdonia, Wales.
#Haunted, littered with crashed #Aircraft from #WorldWarTwo, and inhabited by strange, almost #Lovecraftian fish, this short drips atmosphere, and a very stylish reporter!
More from my visit to the Missouri Military Museum in Jefferson City, MO A shiny "new" one and a not so shiny classic one (My favorite fighter #aircraft , to be honest!) #avgeek#aviation
Toured the Missouri Military Museum right here in river city yesterday. Really nice little museum. This Huey, though!!! She has over 14,000 hours on the airframe - most of them in Vietnam service. She has multiple patched bullet holes - and lives to tell the tale. TY for your service, indeed! #aircraft#aviation#avgeek
I just stumbled on metar-taf.com, which has a very user-friendly interface and a livestream of real-time WX at any reporting airport.
Not affiliated or anything, just thought I’d pass this along. Search for your airport in upper right corner. Then hit the LIVESTREAM link at top. Enjoy!
A white plane just crossed over me, relatively low and fast - no markings of any affiliation and it does not show up on Flightradar24 (Transponder turned off??) :nkoThink: 🤨
