Russia is celebrating Victory Day and President Vladimir Putin is using the occasion to justify his actions in Ukraine.

Meanwhile Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said: "Today we celebrate Victory Day over Nazism. I would like to see similar propaganda posters warning guards of the typical tricks adventurers use when infiltrating a place, such as shapeshifting into small animals, turning invisible, or flying.

This was the code name for one of the five sectors of the Allied invasion of German-occupied France in the Normandy landings on June 6, 1944 (D-Day), during World War II. A tall, narrow memorial stone against a blue sky. The inscription is in French. If I get it right, the translation should be: At dawn on 6 June 1944, the allied armies landed. General Leclerc, commander of the 2nd armoured division, landed here.

Another green combat vehicle of the French army. This time on wheels, so probably not a tank (I'm not familiar with the technical terms and that's a good thing).

This was not true in 1948 and it is not true in 2024.

In 1948 #Arabs rejected #TwoStateSolution. In 2024 #Israel (at least #Netanyahu) did.

Arabs have said they will recognize Israel as long as there is a path to an independent #Palestine, where the two exist side-by-side.

For #Bibi to harbor ambitions to get #Palestinians to flee so that Israel can move in permanently would not only be illegitimate, it would be a grievous folly
