So, Microsoft offers some new(ish?) SharePoint list templates. They are well-structured, thoughtful, and cover a variety of use cases, and some even come with pre-built Power Automate automations that the template will recommend and help you set up!
Except . . . we had a DIFFERENT automation in mind, but half of the fields from the list (including both items we added AND items that were part of the template) weren't visible to Power Automate.
Thursday/Friday we saw a weird issue at work where pdfs on windows machines started trying to open in drawboard, an application that no one has installed. icons for pdfs within #sharepoint online were displaying as the drawboard icon. it's not a case where the extension is mapped incorrectly on the user machine. #drawboard is not a msft product. based on this thread, it seems to be browser agnostic (though my teammate who is the sp admin only saw it on edge in our env).

Ok, I think I've got a good start for using #sharepoint for a good MOP/SOP location that works in both web and the Teams client. Next is figuring out some Word template crap and then onto automation.
Decisions are difficult if your job is at risk. If a project based on #opensource such as #foswiki fails, your job is at risk. But if a #sharepoint project goes down in flames, people will spend more money to avoid feeling embarrassed.

#Sharepoint has added a feature that allows users to make folders any color they choose, and those colors are visible by others in the organization. We now have a rainbow of folders across the organization that are meaningless to anyone but the employee themselves. 🫠

I'm a #SharePoint and #PowerPlatform developer. We often send email notifications saying "hey, there's a new thing that needs your attention. click here to respond." The link takes them a #PowerApps form or a #PowerAutomate flow approval.
It occurs to me perhaps this isn't a good practice from an #infosec perspective. Many of the phishing email test that we're supposed to pass follow this exact pattern.
Is there a better way to send these notifications?
