Dear @microsoft#MSExcel developers: has none of you printed a spreadsheet with #MSWindows set to its built-in #accessibility visual theme, high-contrast black? Because the latest version of #Microsoft365 apps for enterprise prints out black pages with light text. And when I switch the visual theme to the built-in high-contrast white, it prints white pages with black text. Same spreadsheet. That shouldn't happen. #usability

I am currently the only individual in my organization who has a Microsoft 365 Copilot license.
In other words, I am the pilot for the Copilot pilot program.
So far, I have not seen any set-the-world-on-fire (metaphorically) capabilities for this set-the-world-on-fire (literally) technology. Having Copilot summarize long email threads is pretty good. But its much-touted ability to synthesize data from across the Microsoft tenant is, so far, not impressive.

In particular, the Commission has failed to provide appropriate safeguards to ensure that personal data transferred outside the EU/EEA are afforded an essentially equivalent level of protection as guaranteed in the EU/EEA. Furthermore, in its contract with Microsoft, the Commission did not sufficiently specify what types of personal data are to be collected and for which explicit and specified purposes when using Microsoft 365. The Commission’s infringements as data controller also relate to data processing, including transfers of personal data, carried out on its behalf."

Ogłaszając swoją decyzję w dzisiejszym komunikacie prasowym, Europejski Inspektor Ochrony Danych (EIOD) stwierdził, że Komisja naruszyła „kilka kluczowych zasad ochrony danych podczas korzystania z Microsoft 365”.

To avoid disrupting the work of the Commission, the Commission has been given 9 months to fix things up.

Die EU-Kommission hat mit der Nutzung von #Microsoft365, der Office-Suite des Tech-Riesens, gegen geltende Datenschutzbestimmungen verstoßen. Das hat heute der Europäische Datenschutzbeauftragte (EDSB) verkündet. I really wished the EU or something would step up against the monopoly #Microsoft has on #email with #Office365#Microsoft365. MS and #Google as well seem to decide who can deliver mail to their servers and who can’t (spoiler, anyone other than MS or Google).
You can tick off all the boxes (SPF, DKIM, DMARC, no spam reputation) and still they decide whether they want to deliver your mail or not. At the same time they happily spam your mail servers though.
I recently got thrown into the world of AI and LLMs. My role suddenly flipped from working on Search products for Microsoft Office to being right at the forefront of Microsoft Copilot exploration.

If my email #spam folder is any indication, compromised and burner #Microsoft365 tenants are very popular. I’m not an #InfoSec wonk but there’s probably a black market trading access to entire tranches of them.

Also Microsoft, we are working to make it impossible to use collaboration tools like Teams in Linux. You can no longer take calls in the browser, for instance. There is also no app for Teams in Linux.
Note: I don't WANT to use Teams, I am forced to by work.
