A #GrayWolf killed in a January #coyote hunt in #Michigan's southern Lower Peninsula; #DNR investigating how it got there.
The harvest was potentially the 1st time a gray wolf has been identified in the Lower Peninsula since the species was wiped out driven to [#extinction] from the state in the early 20th century, MI Dept of #NaturalResources said.
I posted about this before but this #climate corruption journalist does a much better job succinctly explaining the natural resources at issue in the conflict in the #MiddleEast.
The province has increased the capacity of the #Alberta#Indigenous Opportunities Corporation, taking the amount available for loan guarantees for #investment in projects in the #naturalresources industry and other sectors to $3 billion.
The bump signals to companies planning “monumental transactions” that Alberta is “committed” to support such projects long term.
The province wants #Canada to set up a similar program for Trans Mountain equity.
*Never forget this CEO wanker worked for #Exxon prior & has a long history of promoting rampant #ecocide & is OK continuing to carry out more #CrimesAgainstHumanity 🤑
Today is 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝘆—the date in the year when humanity collectively begins living beyond our ecological means. As such, from today we move into the ecological equivalent of overdraft spending!
From now until January 1st 2024, our global civilisation will be using more natural resources—everything from fish stocks, fibres and medicines provided by plants; as well as the ability of forests to absorb and impound carbon—than the planet is capable of supplying this (or indeed in any) year.
This is not merely ecological "deficit spending", as some (including the Financial Times) have characterised it; but more like an entirely unauthorised overdraft or perhaps even a dangerous payday loan. This is because by consistently overspending our biological budget, humanity is reducing the biodiversity on which our very survival depends!
The overshoot date, calculated by the Global Footprint Network, a think-tank, using data collected by the United Nations, has been coming earlier almost every year since 1971.
