Pioneering translator Eleanor Hull had retired to Cannington Priory, #Somerset, by 1458. She received the last rites and died at the priory in 1460, probably in #December because her will was proved on 2nd Jan 1461.

This is incredible! Experts have reconstructed the face of Juanita, who features in Intrepid Dudettes of the Inca Empire!!

Also known as the Ice Maiden, she was sacrificed to the Inca deities on top of Mount Ampato.

We had a great time at the Jane Austen Centre yesterday.

Jane Austen is one of the very few women who didn't go in my book simply for being very well-known and not an "unsung" woman! Maybe one day, most of the women in the book will get their due!

Whilst we were there, I couldn't resist writing my book's title with a quill!

On 28th August 1963, it was announced that there would be no more employment discrimination on the buses in Bristol.

The decision came after Black people came together in a protest known as the Bristol Bus Boycott over the refusal of the Bristol Omnibus Company to employ non-white people.

Two pole vaulters flew over the bar on their final attempt at 4.90 & fell short on their three attempts at 4.95. They decided to share the gold medal!
