The median comp. pkg for CEOs of cos. in the S&P 500 surged by 12.6% in 2023, reaching $16.3M. This increase exacerbates the existing pay gap b/w CEOs & workers. This increase comes at a time when wages & benefits for private-sector workers rose by 4.1%, exacerbating the pay disparity. At half of the surveyed cos., it'd take a median worker nearly 200 yrs to earn what their CEO makes in a single year.

If entrepreneurs and executives and investors create such a large share of the value in an enterprise, then why are they so opposed to strikes? Why don’t they just keep producing that value without the striking workers?
