I just bought my 2nd #GrandSeiko. Will talk about it and explain the choices I made once I actually get my hands on the box. The only thing I will tease is that this reference is very plain and simple, and probably not one I would have considered 3 months ago before I had owned the very fancy SBGA259/Golden Snowflake. #watches#watchesofmastodon
The #GrandSeiko SBGP005 has basically taken the place of both my SBGA259 which I find a bit too fancy for everyday and my #Citizen E650 S086728 which I don’t wear often anymore because it’s too heavy, too big (42.5mm) and a bit too complicated. The SBGP005 is 40.5mm, has one date complication and is steel instead of titanium so it is definitely heavier than SBGA259 but still nowhere near as heavy as the massive Citizen. #watches#watchesofmastodon
Orte zum Bücher-Sharing sind eine wunderbare Idee. Im kleinen Rahmen wird die Idee der #Commons umgesetzt. Aus eigenen Büchern wird eine "Commons-Pool-Resource". Die Nutzenden können über ihr #Konsumdasein Hinauswachsen, indem sie selbst Bücher einstellen und zu #Prosumierenden werden. Und wenn ich dann beim Reinschauen die Bücher gerade rücke und #Plastikmüll mitnehme, dann werde ich zu einem #Citizen, der mit dafür sorgt, dass diese tolle Idee am Leben bleibt.

Equally, I do not accept his assertion of a #divine#birthright to rule.
I very much resent that our taxes will be used to provide him with a luxurious farewell tour of my country and would much prefer that he stay home and tend to his health at his own expense.
From what I understand when I was reading how the years are set up when done manually, the perpetual calendar of the #Citizen E650 seems to be working by blocks of 4 years (n -> n+3) for leap years. As expected it is handling today fine. I probably won’t be around when it may be wrong in the year 2100 😅.
It looks like I am already on my way to get a #GrandSeiko for my #watches collection. Instead of going for the SBGA211 aka Snowflake, I’ll be getting the SBGA259 aka Golden Snowflake 😁
I have had the #GrandSeiko SBGA259 for 3 days. I know it is to be expected from the specs. But still it is crazy to witness in person that the Spring Drive movement has yet to deviate from a single second so far and is in sync with my #Citizen E650 on atomic time. In comparison in my #watches collection, my automatic Knot CAP-38 (YN84) is behind by 15 seconds in the same period. 😅

In Canada, these conspiracy theories are creeping into movements like the Convoy protestors, and more recently Take Back Alberta spouts some of the same conspiracy theories described in here.
The current UCP govt in Alberta seems to be using variants on this in its constant picking fights with Ottawa as well.
@shadowpages We need as citizens to do everything we can to eliminate the #Sovereign#Citizen movement. If you see a bogus license plate call it in. The police will stop and impound the vehicle. These vehicles are unlicensed and uninsured so if they have a collision and you’re hit by one, you could end up paying the bill. Taking away their movement is the first step.
I don't think this an #accurate summary. Canada's position is that "We have enough hard #evidence to #conclude that a #Canadian#citizen was murdered on Canadian soil by #Indian operatives at the direction of the #government of #India. And we would like them to not do that anymore."

I just read about the #Fosstodon drama and I find myself a bit bemused.
I'm #multilingual, and multi-accental as well, I am a dual #citizen by birthright, I grew up in a multilingual household in a multilingual and multi #ethnic family, and I grew up with #racism from outsiders and as a kid I was jealous of people who only spoke #English at home...
What I'd like to know is, have any of the people banning other #languages ever actually encountered other human beings?
It is all about money for the Americans. Remember, majority of Americans are now opposed to increasing #Ukraine aid per recent polls. They don't care about democracy really. Because, most Americans have no idea how it is to live under a dictatorial government. They refuse to learn history as well unless the books glorify slavery in some states.
The GOP Is Trying to Steal Democracy in Ohio. That Has National Implications.
#Ohio is already one of the most #gerrymandered states in the country. Its maps are so unfair that its own state Supreme Court voted multiple times to send the maps back to the drawing board, only to have its rulings repeatedly undermined, the clock run out, and the #illegally#skewed#maps still used in the midterms.
Now, a new threat looms in the Buckeye State. Facing the prospect of a #citizen#initiative to #restore statewide #abortion#rights this November, the GOP-dominated Ohio legislature is moving in advance to block it.
They have proposed a measure to increase the vote requirement for a constitutional amendment from a simple majority to 60 percent, along with making it far harder to qualify a citizen initiative.
In short, the Ohio GOP wants to write in a supermajority requirement, just as the will of the majority, which favors reproductive choice and the protections of Roe v. Wade, is about to make itself heard.
Wait, can they even do that? Just blatantly #move#the#goalposts, right as progressives are getting ready to score?
Unfortunately, there is no legal barrier preventing this. Instead, the people of Ohio need to make it clear that they will not put up with this #power#grab.

Das 40,00€ teurer gewordene Nachfolgeticket zum 9-Euro-Ticket soll Daten melken. Zwar solle das Ticket übergangsweise nicht nur für Smartphones erhältlich sein sondern auch auf Chip-Karten und kurzzeitig auf Papier mit QR-Code, aber wichtig scheint es den Regierenden vor allem anderen, dass mit dem 49€-Ticket Echtzeit-Verkehrsdaten erhoben werden können.
Positiv klingt zunächst: "Es werde nicht gespeichert, wer von A nach B fährt, sondern nur, wie stark die Verkehrsmittel ausgelastet sind. Für die Fahrgäste könnte das ein Nutzen sein, weil die Verkehrsunternehmen so für ausreichend Kapazitäten sorgen könnten."
Allerdings: Das Ticket wird wohl nur als Abo personalisiert erworben werden können, so dass darüber anfallende Personendaten zukünftig schnell integriert werden könnten. Mit Hinblick auf den aktuellen massiven Ausbau des Überwachungsstaats und der Kontrollgesellschaft in Deutschland und der EU (digitale Personenkennziffer/RegMod, Chatkontrolle, Identifizierungspflicht, Biometrie, eIDAS uvm) ist es doch auch gar nicht die Frage ob, sondern nur wann und mit welchem Vorwand (Anschläge, Pandemie, Jugendschutz, Wahlkampf) personalisierte Datenerfassung und Polizeizugriffe kommen werden, sobald die digitale Kontrollinfrastruktur erst einmal errichtet wurde.
