I just read about the #Fosstodon drama and I find myself a bit bemused.
I'm #multilingual, and multi-accental as well, I am a dual #citizen by birthright, I grew up in a multilingual household in a multilingual and multi #ethnic family, and I grew up with #racism from outsiders and as a kid I was jealous of people who only spoke #English at home...
What I'd like to know is, have any of the people banning other #languages ever actually encountered other human beings?
In my country at least, you are free to get drunk, you should not do it in public. You should not drive a car either.
Besides, while Fedilab has the translate feature and it works. I don't particularly like the client.
I made a thread in my language, and got another 3 or 4 posts of people in their language. Truth is, on a mobile phone and with most clients, this is still an annoying experience.
