Where the Kenai River and Cook Inlet meet. Soon, that area will be swarmed with dipnetters on the beach and tons of dipnetters in boats along with lots and lots of fishing boats. Pretty quiet right now. #Alaska#KenaiRiver#CookInletAlaska
Hatcher, the Pika hugging one of his favorite rocks. They use rocks to help them find their way because they have really poor eyesight.
Photographer Phillip Flippo and his wife located Hatcher yesterday on Hatchers Pass. #Alaska#AlaskaWildlife#HatchersPassAlaska#AlaskaPika
A friend of mine captured this photo July 2021 taken near #Juneau. It is somewhat rare to see this type of jump let alone capture it with a camera. #Tongass #Alaska #Whales #nature
Here are some views from up on the trail we hiked today. The mountain and lake views were stunning! This area takes my breath away. This is Kenai Lake, which is my favorite lake on the Kenai Peninsula. We've taken our boat out many, many times, but not since I had spine surgery several years ago. Kenai Lake covers 21.58 square miles and is 22 miles long! #Alaska#AlaskaScenery#KenaiLakeAlaska#AlaskaMountainsAndTrails
So hubby and I went to a little town about 40 miles north of us, Cooper Landing, to do some hiking and just soak in the beauty of the area. There was no rain albeit a bit cloudy. My first round of pics will be of flowers (one is actually a very annoying weed) that grow wherever they feel like it. #Alaska#AlaskaBeauty#AlaskaScenery
This is my new #introduction. I have been exploring Mastodon since late 2022. Just migrated here from ThePettingZoo as it is closing down and over there I was previously know as Alaskan49. My politics lean "liberal", probably less flame than some, but I strongly believe in #equality and there is plenty of work we can all do to help on that.
I am a mature gay man who believes in democracy and working towards a more verdant world for all. I married my husband in 2008, but we have been together over 40 years. I live on sacred lands of the Auke Kwaan and Taku Kwaan of the Tlingit peoples in present-day #Alaska.
I am not a big social media person, but so far Mastodon has been more fun than most I have tried.
Brown bear at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center is super chill. Beautiful fur! Looks like he might be waiting on a bus or practicing yoga.

Justice Samuel Alito Took Luxury Fishing Vacation With GOP Billionaire Who Later Had Cases Before the Court
In the years after the undisclosed trip to #Alaska, #Republican megadonor Paul Singer’s hedge fund has repeatedly had business before the Supreme Court. #Alito has never recused himself.
Undated, Qui Fah (1880-1958) who moved to Sitka in 1895 where she ran a restaurant & laundry for a few years. Known as "China Mary" but many Americans called Chinese women that rather than learn their names. First Chinese woman in Sitka, perhaps AK. #alaskahistory#alaska#sitka
I recognize this is a very long shot, but weirder things have worked out. Does anyone have any photographs from Anchorage, Eagle River, Wasilla, or Palmer, Alaska taken between late 2001 to mid 2002 that might include lamp posts?
I know this is weird as hell, but there is a reason, I swear. I really appreciate the help and the boosts!
@xgranade I have never been to Alaska, but oh my goodness do I want the internet to make this happen for you. Fingers and toes all crossed. What a fantastic story if you do find a copy of your poster on a photo of a lampost! #Alaska#FediverseDoYourThing
