I just finished Octavia Butler's "The Parable of the Talents." It is a masterful novel and, paired with it's precursor, "The Parable of the Sower," as important a work of fiction as I can imagine. One feels that "The Handmaid's Tale" could fit into this dystopic universe. Interesting that the two most important science fiction works of the last 40 years both take aim at Christofascism in such accurate, prophetic ways.

You must read this book.

It is not a "political belief" to think people of all races are equal and valuable human beings.
It is not a "political belief" to think people know what their own gender is after living in their body regardless what a doctor decided at birth
These are not political beliefs. These are acknowledgments of reality.

I respect Wil Wheaton so much. He is an excellent host and spokesperson for all things #StarTrek. He's a hugely talented narrator of audio books. But what I truly value is his strength as an advocate and a writer of clear, humane, empathetic social policy.

I finished listening to Martha Wells' All Systems Red, Book One of the Murderbot Diaries. These are fun, bite-sized stories. Easy to like, great characters. I would like to see this as a TV series, please.

I can count on two hands the number of things I've done that I felt were truly good.

That's not imposter syndrome. That's just the way it is. It should never keep you from waking up everyday and making something.

That's what creation is. Never be satisfied with your work. But don't be miserable because you're not satisfied. Celebrate it.
