Realized I somehow missed posting this arrangement, one of my favorites of late. Here I present the epitome of early fall in a vase, a mix of native and non-native ornamentals, all major favorites for the local pollinators (and me!).
Visions of a Sunflower
It was June 5th in my garden. Seems like summer flew by, mostly because it was colder and rainier than normal. How I will miss these beauties of nature
Nearing the end of its life as a blooming sunflower, this sunflower blossom is wilted and drooping.
But its life is not over...not yet!
All those seeds will become a tasty and much needed natural food source for birds and small forest animals to get them through the harshness of a winter.
