"The Back of Love" is a single which was released by Echo & the Bunnymen on 21 May 1982. It reached number nineteen on the UK Singles Chart the same month. It was subsequently added to the album Porcupine which was released on 4 February 1983.
Talking Heads released their 4th album, "Remain In Light"
The first record I ever bought with my own money was 1983’s “Speaking In Tongues”. But I’d hear “Once In A Lifetime” on the radio often so I got it soon after.
It took me years to appreciate how innovative this album is, with its mix of punk, new wave, funk, and African rhythms. Lots of people say this is their best album.
It seems there a thing going on here on Mastodon: folk are sharing hashtags of what makes 'em tick in order find like-minded weirdos. Here I go. Stand back...
Released in April 1983, "She's in Parties" is a song by Bauhaus from their fourth studio album, "Burning from the Inside." It was the band's final single before their split in 1984. The track, written by Peter Murphy, Daniel Ash, David J, and Kevin Haskins, reached No. 26 on the UK Singles Chart.
Happy Birthday to Martina Michele Weymouth aka Tina Weymouth, genius bass guitarist for Talking Heads and Tom Tom Club, born on this day in 1950 in Coronado, California
Das 31. Wave-Gotik-Treffen findet am Wochenende in Leipzig
statt.
I'd like to claim that I've always wondered what would happen if Bernard Summer had been a fan of surf rock but still formed #NewOrder, but I think death ponee @slvrbckt may well be the only ones to ever come up with this genius idea. Perfect #postpunk representing Elandia Republic [ELAN] in the #fedivision2024
Title track of the band's 1984 album, this sweeping ballad showcases a grand orchestration and Ian McCulloch's emotive vocals. Its poetic lyrics evoke a sense of longing and romanticism, culminating in a dramatic crescendo. Often considered one of their most iconic songs.
