I put together a helpful custom #map 📍 with the recommended local places from the PyCon US website to help me navigate - hope it helps you too in some way.
We issued a new hazard map today for the #Svartsengi - #Grindavik area. We are inching towards another intrusion it seems. Results from modelling indicate we might reach a similar inflating volume we had before the last eruption on the 14 January in a few days. We expect a seismic swarm as a precursor, but the time between swarm onset and eruption is uncertain. For the previous two eruptions we got 90 minutes and 5 hours.

Here, there's no question of "realism" of representation; the visualization of space is purely subjective, and the data represented focuses solely on the refraction, reflection and diffraction of a swell, which are presented by curved sticks, while horizontal and vertical sticks serve as support. Islands are symbolized by shells. Wave crests may also be present.
