Chore list for today includes planting carrots and radish in the mini greenhouse. Keep an eye on lettuce and spinach transplants and water if needed. Keep onion and lettuce seedbeds moist. Shovel dirt out of truck and add to various garden beds.
Also prune plum tree, weed and start lawn mowing.

The garden is taking shape! I am so ready for Spring! I am not a fan of the thick pollen in the air as it makes breathing difficult and sticks to my contacts, but it means the trees are healthy. :)
If you live in the greater Seattle area you likely know about McLendon Hardware stores. Yesterday I found early transplants at the Woodinville store and got some spinach and lettuce to plant in our mini-greenhouse.
Actually I planted spinach seed last fall to overwinter except some critter got in there and ate the plants - roots and all! 😟
I grew Chinese Lanterns one year. Had no idea how much of your garden they can take over. When they faded, their beautiful skeletons looked like magic lanterns to me.
Capitalism is some kind of corrosive erosion on public resources. The state selling space beneath highways has allowed dangerous materials to be stored under public transportation conduits. The recent LA freeway disaster anticipates other places, other foolish uses.
When visiting Daegu 10 years ago, there were vegetable gardens, fruits and perennials growing under highways.
