For #FernFriday and #ForestFriday here's a nurse log with moss and ferns in the Quinault rainforest on the Olympic peninsula of Washington state, photographed during our PNW road trip in September/October 2022.
Have I mentioned how awesome Newfoundland is? The East Coast Trail, which follows around the edge of the Avalon Peninsula, has some of my favorite hiking in the world. There's a new view around every corner, plus icebergs, puffins, whales, foxes... If you've never been, I highly recommend it.
Western sword fern (Polystichum munitum)
With the new growths, ferns look beautiful at the moment in the rainforest on Vancouver Island. I love the shapes and the vibrant green.

This photograph always reminds me of spring with its beautiful light and this juicy and fresh spring green. Only in spring green has this wonderful shade. Green is known to have a calming and soothing effect on the mind and body. Having a fern wall art print in your home or office can help create a peaceful and relaxing environment. https://bit.ly/3MXIuLn #buyintoart#springintoart#ayearforart#fern#photography
My picture of the day:
I've never before seen such huge ferns than the ones you find in New Zealand. They are massive trees there, I only know them as small "bushes" in the forest.
The Caldeirão Verde waterfall during a really heavy downpour, which was probably one of the most tropically impressive views in Madeira, Portugal. 🇵🇹 This waterfall is 100 meters high, and the water flows into a huge basin. My entire photo equipment was totally soaked, miraculously nothing was damaged!
