NEW: Nearly 40 pups from #Texas are recovering from their long journey to #Massachusetts as we get set for our next fee-waived adoptathon! The dogs arrived in #Bedford last weekend and were immediately brought to the Northeast Animal Shelter to serve out their quarantine and get checked out 1/
The Operation Kindness dogs range in age from two-months to three-years-old. They are a variety of breeds and sizes, including #Chihuahuas, #Poodle mixes, Hound mixes, and #PitBull mixes. They’re also the inspiration behind our next fee-waived adoptathon for #dogs–called Texas Home ‘Em! 3/
This morning, I dreamed about Tibby, my sweet baby dawg (or as Mr. Boots called him, our stinky little weasel), & when I woke up, I could feel him curled up against my back. I reached over to pet him, & I remembered he's gone. He's been gone for almost 4 yrs, but I still miss him every single day. + #FlashbackFriday#DogsOfMastodon#Chihuahuas

“At least we got to visit Lort Smith Veterinary Hospital at Campbellfield where a nice Lady vet gave me some nice tasting anti-inflammatory medicine and said I have to rest up for the week.”

Ooooh, Dad got the police fine notice for us doing climate civil disobedience in front of Melbourne’s Flinders Street Station on Saturday 9 December 2023. $385 for failure to obey a police direction to move on. We were all on our Brompton bike at the time (and it was raining) .
Are we the first chihuahuas to be arrested? We didn’t spend time in the lockup, they only took Dad’s details to issue the fine.
We’ll do it again because climate policies are still not at the ambition to avoid catastrophic climate change. Dad has read the science and has tried other avenues of change (and we 🐾 and chewed over the IPCC Global Warming at 1.5C report)
We stopped by the Moreland Station mini Library late this afternoon.
We became a centre of attention so had to pose for photos. One person asked about our #ChihuahuasForClimateAction signs so Dad explained the increasing concern about climate impacts and our failure to rapidly phase out #FossilFuels to address #ClimateChange and accelerating temperatures. By way of #Introduction, we are two very precocious Chihuahuas engaged in #LifeInFawkner in #Merribek and navigating and philosophising our way through the Anthropocene. We are also foundational members of #ChihuahuasForClimateAction and are honourary members of local cycling advocacy group #MerribekBUG.
We take our human carer cycling just about everyday - he really does need the regular exercise. And we are happy to go to the dog park to send and receive our peemails.
