Saw the City doing some work in front of the house - and my first thought was:

That's the advantage of running these polls - I can't choose - LOL
This is where I can sense the heart-strings being pulled ... Example, I love Empire - BUT, Airplane! is just such FUN... BUT Blues Brothers has so many great scenes... BUT ... The Shining has Jack N. at his eerie-est ...

Plus - quite often, such films aren't 'competing' against each other - the different genres tend to have their core fans, then the general public. Seldom is Empire matched up against a horror film, Shining vs. Comedy, Comedy v. Sci-fi, etc...
That's another thing I have fun with in these polls - when people who hadn't considered such things before suddenly come face-to-face with such decisions ... (plus it gives me a bit of morbid pleasure - chuckle)...

Oh, there are tons of films which are highly spoken of by people which I still haven't seen yet. I slowly try to fill in gaps as people mention <such and such>. Fast Times at Ridgemont High, etc...
So, at times I'm in that same boat. Quite often, it's simply I am reminded of one, but then totally forget about it (being distract by squirrels, shiny objects, etc.).

And, that's yet another thing I love about doing these polls - many times people haven't seen (and in some cases - like the 'Mill Creek' specials) haven't even heard of before. Occasionally that spurs them to check out something they've been missing all these years.

Though I was apprehensive about how 'glastnost' (sp?) would affect the Bond franchise, I like how this film played it - especially the ending scene on the cliff. Gen. (or whatever rank) Gogol is one of my favorite supporting characters during that era of the franchise.
