Small rant. I’m trying to sell my stuff online. I was immediately permabanned by #eBay and #Poshmark, most likely due to my active #mullvad VPN connection and associated IP.
I’m glad I signed up for Mercari from my mobile, sans VPN.
Trump stands to gain billions… from the merger between TrumpMedia & Tech & the blank-check co [#SPAC] #DWAC, which took the parent company of #TruthSocial public.
This story is wild to me. Who knew that receiving mail opted us into tracking like this? I certainly didn't.
"The federal privacy watchdog says Canada Post is breaking the law by gleaning information from the outsides of envelopes and packages to help build marketing lists that it rents to businesses.
... includes data about where individuals live and what type of online shopping they do, based on who sends them packages."
The term ‘accountability’ is frequently thrown around Christian circles. It fills me with unease because I think of it as giving another authority to punish me for failure. Which is why Dr. Cruickshank’s definition in her book, Ordinary Discipleship, is so helpful to me.
“But accountability is merely the ability to ask for an account of [my] actions.” (pg 143)
I love how folks still think people farmers like Google have a trust problem.
In 2024!
They don’t have a trust problem.
They are untrustworthy.
And they’ve always been untrustworthy. It’s just that your friends happen to work there and your agency gets scraps of work from them sometimes and maybe they sponsor events you speak at that you’re even still questioning this. And, by doing so – still, even today – helping legitimise them.
This Bible verse really helped me today:
Psalms 37:4-5 ESV
Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. #Bible#Trust
Why the disdain for Bret Weinstein (not steen)? He's been consistent since the beginning of Darkhorse. He wasn't all in on the vaccines, he stated that there is no scientific way that anything developed that quickly could be labeled safe and effective in real science. He kept diving in, and kept uncovering more and more BS. I trust him to genuinely apply first principles when looking at any topic these days. And his first principal now is: psyop unless proven otherwise. The NA way! #itm#trust
#BetterHelp is advertising heavily on podcasts and YouTube channels. Apparently, they sold health information to third parties and used it to target information. This is of course a major breach of #privacy and #trust.
Let the people creating those videos and podcasts know that BetterHelp is not to be trusted and that they should not advertise for that service any more.
Let your friends and family know that this service cannot be trusted.
A poll in the U.S. shows a large majority of Americans who heard of artificial intelligence have very little or no trust that companies will use the technology responsibly.
Comparing output from ChatGPT with articles from Wikipedia: "participants perceive LLM-generated content as clearer and more engaging while on the other hand they are not identifying any differences with regards to message's competence and trustworthiness."
Is support for perhaps the most important battle western civilisation has faced in decades really on equal terms with building a wall?
The thing is, if #Ukraine loses, the #western#alliance will have forfeited the #trust that those yearning democracy, equal rights & freedom from tyranny have placed in it.
If the west loses trust, there goes our push for anti-racism too. If the global south chooses Russian & Chinese style, it won’t matter a damn.
Wow, who could have predicted that the genetics company wouldn't have strong security? I'm genuinely impressed with the amount of trust people have towards those "techy" and "futuristic" companies. Another example would be Neuralink, we've all seen the news about it. Don't trust companies just because what they do seems cool. I hate that we have to state the obvious. #genetics#companies#trust#neuralink#23andfuckme#23andme
Just had to file a complaint against Hilton for not complying with direct #marketing opt-outs, non-compliance with #GDPR Articles 5,6,7,12,13,21 and 25 as well as Article 5(3) of 2002/58/EC for their web site, #mobile application and #email service which all use tracking technologies without consent.

Can us humble peasants move to a furtile #PostGrowth system when #HyperCapitalism rabidly feeds from the bleak industrial farmlands of #Distrust?
In the huge Fields of the Majority where us wilfully oppressed forced laborers daily sow Seeds of Doubt for our masters. We see pellets hit the hardened soil, and pray in vain that something healthy will sprout this time. While we eat the bile that's served.
In our dogmatic way of life can we discern patches of #Faith and #Trust to grow Humble Deeds?
On the occasion of the #dropbox fiasco Simon Willison raises the debilitating issue of (lack of) #trust in the so-called #ai industry.
I think he is being naive about the amount of spying that goes on on mobile. Maybe Meta doesnt do it in the in-your-face way others do, but most people have dozens of popular apps from various operators (I have witnessed first hand live conversation showing up as ads minutes later).
The "tech" industry right now is a moral cesspool.
Prigozhin’s lesson for Trump & Co: Don’t trust Putin’s promises (www.politico.eu)
Trump, Vivek Ramaswamy and Macron should all be thinking twice after Prigozhin’s death about pinning hopes on deals with Putin.
