Ok this is kind of a long pull quote but it's worth it for the punch line! 🤣
"Rachel Cook said she approached staff at law student services Tuesday after noticing #Christmas trees, garlands and other seasonal decorations around a campus lounge. She offered to provide an electric menorah to mark #Hanukkah and supplement another #menorah lit on campus Thursday."
While the response was initially positive, Cook, who is #Jewish, later received an email from a vice dean regarding her “concerns” about the existing decorations. He offered a bookable room for a lighting ceremony or to display a menorah, but said decorations in public spaces were meant to be “non-denominational.” The Christmas trees have since been removed, though a variety of garlands, decorative polar bears and lights remain.
Cook said she never took issue with the Christmas trees and even accepted a candy cane from the vice dean when he dressed as #Santa earlier this season."
I tried winter once. Didn't really care for it.
But, my disabled wife can't walk in snow, so I took her sledding. Seemed like a good idea at the time, but, no matter how in shape you feel, dragging someone up a hill in the snow to launch on a 5 second ride, will kill you. Eye Nose!
@glen_malley Good afternoon? I made her wear it. If you haven't already noticed; I'm a hat guy. My hat is a Rasta Monkey (not shown in that photo) and I dared her to match me. She's not as adventurous as I am. I love shocking people with weird stuff. I dress in full #Santa suit, matching face, and go grocery shopping. When a kid is acting out, I take out my shopping list and put a TICK on the sheet, and the kids start to behave #LOL
In quite the deft maneuver, the trio of elves yesterday first got the #ChristmasTree into the house during the day, somehow. Then they laid out some of the lights in strings to connect our light in the center of the room to the tree in some kind of shelf elf zipline.
Those elves are just wild.
Our youngest two really found this funny when they got home from school. Having to solo put up the tree on my lunch break was worth it for that alone.
